LOTR Mod Branch: Immersion Lotr

LOTR Mod: The Lord of the Rings Minecraft Mod Wiki

Immersion 1.7 through 1.15, as well as Immersion Lotr, can all be downloaded on the official Immersion page on curseforge: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/immersion

Immersion is a resource pack that aims to enhance Minecraft's graphics, by expanding upon and interpreting the classic Minecraft textures in a higher resolution. Currently, this only includes 32x32 textures, and focuses primarily on blocks.

Ultimately, the pack's name is it's description. The pack tries to upscale the game's graphics, much like the popular pack, Faithful, but unlike Faithful, Immersion focuses on increasing the realism of the textures, providing a smoother and more lifelike aesthetic. Immersion also aims above and beyond, integrating features like optifine connected textures support, as well as PBR specular maps designed to take advantage of the potential that the SEUS PTGI shaders offer. Immersion is also being developed for the Lord of the Rings Minecraft mod, in parallel with the vanilla versions.

Immersion is a massive project, with virtually limitless room for expansion. Currently, it is a 32x resource pack, and it covers mostly blocks. But this is only the beginning of the pack's journey. In time, it will expand further into items, mobs, gui, etc., and even expand into higher resolutions. The goal is to eventually provide every resolution (up to 2k), and to take extreme care with each resolution to ensure quality.

How Often Does Immersion Update?
This answer is very versatile. As I can currently only pursue this pack as a hobby, my available time to work on it is very limited. Further, the free time that I do have can be spread fairly thin, as I am not only developing the pack for vanilla Minecraft, but also for the Lord of the Rings mod, a mod which has a much larger asset pool than vanilla Minecraft. Then factor in time spent simply for entertainment, plus the many other skills I am trying to acquire (game development, modding, animating, music creation, video editing, etc.), and I have even less time to spend on the project.

So, what am I saying? What I'm trying to explain is that progress on the pack may be relatively slow, but also very irregular. Development may occur in stops and starts, and will have highs and lows. That said, I am dedicated to the project, and try to push myself to release an update at least once a month. Whether or not that update is large, or comes when intended, again, depends.

How Can I Help?

The most immediate way that you can help me is simply sharing the pack, commenting, downloading it, etc. I am more than welcoming of suggestions for improvement, or any questions or comments you might have about the pack. you can also join my discord, where I am very active and can communicate in real-time with you.

If you want to support me more directly, you can pledge to my Patreon. Patrons will receive several benefits as a token of my appreciation, and the benefits will only increase as I gain more experience.

Also, if you are interested in the lotr mod branch of the resource pack, you can check out the page for that here: Immersion Lotr

Inspiration for Immersion textures comes from the classic Minecraft textures, courtesy of Mojang AB. This pack is in no way affiliated with Mojang and any questions or comments regarding the pack should not be brought to Mojang, but should rather be directed towards me, the creator, either personally or at Quin Studios.

• Use Immersion and its assets for videos. This includes recorded footage (Let's plays, trailers, etc.) as well as animations or other forms of video that do not directly use the pack, but you must credit me (as either Quin or Quin Studios) in the description
• Use and change any non-texture graphical works related to Immersion, so long as you give credit.
• Customize/edit Immersion, so long as you do not distribute it. You may still upload videos and screenshots using modified textures, but you must give me credit, and note that you modified the textures. Even though you might be the author of the modified textures, you still have no authorship rights over them, because the original textures are not your own work.

• Share only the download link to the resourcepack. If you want to share the resource pack with anyone, you must post a link to one of my respective pack pages (currently only the www.planetminecraft.com page)
• Re-upload the resourcepack or any part of it without permission.
• Republish any Immersion threads or pages without permission. You may make translations on other pages, however, as long as you leave the original links, and notify me that you are doing so. Try not to ask to republish anywhere where I have already published the pack, as that will not be allowed.
• Use any content from the resource pack for anything other than the things mentioned in this document without permission.
• Remix the resource pack without permission, as that would be a re-upload.

Then I guess it's somewhat successful in it's goal, since this pack is only 32x. part of this project's inspiration is because I personally really dislike Faithful's textures. They don't smooth color transitions at all, and rarely improve on the textures' realism. Essentially, I'm making Immersion to be what I always wished Faithful would be, but what it never was.

Hey everyone, just letting you know that the pack has been updated again. I completely overhauled the wood plank textures, as well as the smooth sandstone texture, and I adjusted the grass texture so that it looks better up against the grass block.

I also (re)designed the logo, customized the title screen, and changed the pack icon, and redesigned this page.

As always, any feedback is appreciated.

I now have downloads for Minecraft 1.7.10 through 1.14, so you can check it out in more recent updates now!

Level 8 : Apprentice Crafter
Can you make a 1.14 version?
05/31/2019 11:55 pm
Level 40 : Master Artist
Yeah, I could. I didn't know how much interest there would be yet, so I didn't make it, but I did plan to release versions for the more recent updates upon completion of the 1.7.10 version of the pack. Though, I suppose it probably makes sense to post them now, after all. I already made a 1.13 one, which should work for 1.14 too. I'll look into trying to upload it.
