I've been playing on John Smith resourcepack since early beta versions of Minecraft and I'm really glad that it's still being continued. As of the introduction of custom models to Minecraft, I decided to make a contribution to this excellent pack. The results of that is this addon, which I decided to share with you and keep updated seeing the awesome feedback from all of you. I can't promise frequent updates (after all, real life is more important), but I'll do my best .Feel free to post suggestions and critique, feedback is always appreciated.
Enjoy!

-Custom handcrafted models designed especially for John Smith Legacy
-Full compatibility with Optifine and MCPatcher
-Full compatibility with Shaders

Inside the spoiler you can find pictures of some of the models. Keep in mind that the resourcepack includes many more than those shown here. Download the pack and findout yourself.

Please how to exporte your grass model to my personnal pack ?
Whenever I use your add-on with certain forge mods, the grass has the missing block texture. The mods I am using are Better Foliage, Dynamic Surroundings, Optifine, and Sound Filters. I don't think the last two would be conflict points, but I think the first two may be. Whenever I disable your add-on, the grass returns to normal. I would love to use your add-on in my little mod-pack, but I can't use it if the grass texture is broken, which slows the game to a halt for me. Is there anything I can do to solve this, or is this on the side of the mod developers?

If you have better foliage, it might conflict with my the grass model I have (replicated Better Foliage). You could delete the grass block models from my resourcepack (/assets/minecraft/models/block/grass to */grass5 and /assets/minecraft/blockstates/grass). Otherwise, you could also opt not to use Better Foliage, since it is already replicated in my resourcepack.
I have the same issue, grass shows up with the black and pink missing texture but I dont have better foliage installed. The only mods I have installed are Forge, Optifine and InvTweaks. I am using 1.12.2. Any suggestions how I could fix this?

Excuse me, am I and my friend the only ones who experience obscene amounts of stuttering whenever we place or destroy blocks with this 3d texture pack enabled, during Multiplayer session? On SMP it works fine. Is it becasue there's no Optifine yet or is it just us? I have 16GB Ram and GTX 1060, so it should work fluently.

I love this texturepack, and your 3d textures are beautiful. I even tweeked some hues of a few blocks to make them match more, but the pack sadly makes the game less enjoyable ot play because of the stuttering.
Did you try assigning more RAM to minecraft? It only uses 1GB RAM in default settings...

I have assigned about 6gb Ram to MC, it's not an issue with insufficient RAM. 1.13 is apparently wonky.

I assume you're playing on 1.13? I did come across that issue. I'm hoping when optifine comes back it makes it good again. Other than that, I don't know if anything can be done. I used to be able to play with this pack and shaders back on 1.12.

Yes, I'm playing on 1.13. Oh well, so it seems I'm not the only one then. Let's wait for the Optifine then and see once it comes out. Keep up the great work though, mate! The pack is awesome.

I will post 2 files, 1 for pre-1.13 and 1 for post-1.13, so yes. Just as a tease, the amount of files in the resourcepack is more than doubled.
YOU ARE AMAZING! Thanks for the great work, keep it up!!!

Where do I donate? :P

To be honest, no. Since my last comment I haven't done a single model sadly. Although I would love this pack to have a few more times as many models as it currently has, I'm on my senior year of high school and in the little time I have I simply can't find the motivation to model. As soon as I do something, I'll make sure to post an update and let you know.
I'm now using both of these it looks great!

No ETA for now. I have made a model for the compass item and started working on Custom Entity Models in optifine, which allows me to make more realistic models for animals in game. I created a model for stone bricks which looked great, but the performance impact was so huge that I had to scrap that idea.

@FilalPL i just found that in 1.11 the models for redstone torches are reversed. When you place one against a wall it appears facing the wrong direction and floating. Simply flipping these textures will fix this. Normal torches are correctly modelled.

FYI,

you should make sure in "pack.mcmeta" has the correct "pack_format" number, so the number for 1.11 is 3 but 1.10.2 is 2.

i had to go and fix the small mistake in pack.mcmeta when i am using 3D for 1.10.2.. and that mean you should make a separately download for each one.. 1.10.2 and 1.11. thats all.

I feel like you should make your own pack. Or make this an add-on which works for most pack.

But I just don't really like John Smith.

Thanks :D I really like your bookshelf and swords models. I can't get myslf to try modelling tools, but I have to do it sometime.
I agree. There seem to be only and full of creators which don't use boring models and actually know what they are doing. I wish making packs would be more rewarding so more people would do it properly.
having trouble with the pack, it doesn't load all the way.. using minecraft 1.10.2 and optifine hd u c2 if that helps solve the problem some how.. im thinking of doing a role play with my friends and would like this to bring it to life :) so if you could help me, that would be great

Have you downloaded the default John Smith Legacy from the official website? https://www.johnsmithlegacy.co.uk/
and John Smith Legacy 1.10.2 v2 works perfectly with the addon for me. You need to arrange the resourcepacks in Minecraft so that John Smith Legacy 1.10.2 v2 is on the bottom and my addon on top of it. Make sure to tell me if it works and I hope that you'll have fun with your friends.
Just saw this now, and its working perfectly! thank you so much! i clearly wasn't paying attention to the description because it says it right there xD

John Smith Legacy 1.8.9 v1.3.26 and Models version 3.1.1. I downloaded them both fresh just prior to using them. It may be the 1.8.9, now that I look closer- I run minecraft at 1.8 even, not 1.8.9.

I'm not really working on next update much. However, to disable torches you can delete their blockstates file. They should be gone then.
