Heyyyyyy

I'm starting a new series teaching you how to make your own origami. Learn how to make your own butterflies in just ten steps!
Here is where I learned how to make all of my origami
Clickay Meh

What You'll need

  • Some sort of square sheet of paper
How to make your own Origami Paper
First of all, you need a regular piece of white paper (8x11). Take the left corner of your paper and create a triangle looking fold going almost to the right bottom corner. Now take the top right corner & fold it almost to the bottom left corner. You should now have a triangle looking top with a small rectangle at the bottom. Fold the triangle back behind the paper, then fold it back to it's original position, making a line marker for you to cut along. If you got lost during any of this, (I'm sure you did) go here to see pictures and maybe a better description.
  • Your hands, duh
  • Time & Patience

How to Do It
*If using real origami paper start with color down on surface.
  1. First, take your sheet of paper & fold it in half, both ways, as seen above.
  2. Next, fold one corner to the other, both ways.
  3. Now you have an aster tag looking crease pattern.
  4. Then, push down the center, so it's not popping up, which was giving it a mountain appearance.
  5. Now, take the middle crease line & fold it so it makes the paper fold into a triangle shape, for the top part, which is probably sticking up, push it down so it matches up with the crease you made a few moments ago in this step.
  6. Then, take the top flap & fold the corners upwards, making them parallel, and don't forget to line them up with the middle crease line.
  7. Next, flip it over, and turn it upside down.
  8. Then, fold the bottom tip upwards over the edge of the top. Make sure you are not also folding up the flaps you created in step #7
  9. Now, flip your origami over & bend down the tiny little square sticking up over the top, & bend it onto your side.
  10. Finally, fold you little butterfly in half & unfold, & there you have it!
Don't be afraid to use the Diagram in the spoiler above for some help if you get confused/lost. If that doesn't help go here

;'> I got really into it at one point and then totally forgot about doing it after a few weeks. I have a bunch of origami paper and what not but I rarely ever do anything with it. I might start this up at one point but holy heck it's time consuming xD

other than that, i'm glad that you seemed to enjoy it, i guess
