1.8 Survival To Be Removed/Changed?

Apparently, according to a interview with jeb ( www.minecraftforum.net/news/192-an-interview-with-jeb/ ) In which he said:

MCF: There have been many questions regarding the future of Survival as it exists currently - will it exist in any form after 1.8?
Jeb:
I don't think so.

Now personally i enjoy the current survival, i find it a challenge, however, what happens if the update comes along and takes away the ORIGINAL survival as we know it, and the new versionturns about to be rubbish? And just in case this is the case, i would like this to happen, either:
A: Theres an option for old survival.
Or alternatively:
B: Some modder recreates survival.

Hopefully survival wont cease to exist, because i personally enjoy it. If you agree with this, comment!

I think that survival will be switched to a new RPG/action-adventure mode, but maybe Mojang will bring survival back in some future update, better than ever.

I think that survival will be converted to RPG, and I am afraid that convertation has begin.

It's not that its going to be erased, or dramatically re-changed, it's just going to evolve allot because of the new features. Same old stuff, with some new ones, probably more hardcore.

What bugs me is, the creation of an survival and creative mode, this will divide the community, imagine your favorite server, and they chouse the mode you don't like or don't whant... scary to think on how it's going to roll.

I think they ment changeable between adventure and survival. Not changeable between old and new survival, you got a link to confirm that?

Are you talking about the NPC houses? Because even if they were removed, theres still things such as xp and the hungry bar...

You're overlooking the answer of that question. All the person was asking was if Survival will be the same as it is now after the update. He said it won't be, and that's obviously true. With all that's being added now, the food meter, stamina bar, etc. is easily going to change the survival mode you're used to now. Some people would look at this question and take it the wrong way. All he's saying is that it's gonna be different from what it is now, which is obvious.
