What is it?
So, let's just get rolling with this! Slabs is a mod that brings slab versions of blocks to MOST blocks (exclusion list at the bottom). This is very simple, but very powerful mod for building! To be honest, slabs for these blocks should be implemented in Minecraft already, but because they aren't I decided to add them in ![[1.8.1] Slabs! How do I use it?
It's simple really, use the same recipe you would use to make a slab, and just use different materials. There is ONE exception, if you want to use stone slabs (NOT the stone slab included in the game, but a new one I made to have the texture of stone.) Look at the picture below:
You install the mod like any other mod, the download is here. All you have to do is unzip your Minecraft.jar, put in EVERYTHING to the Minecraft.jar, and run the game! Also, you need to have ModLoader, just google it, it's the first result!
Notes, and not included blocks
- The slabs do not stack, meaning when you stack two of the same slab, they do not make a normal block, I just don't undertand the point of this
- Wool slabs are NOT added yet, I'm going to put that in either tomorrow or Tuesday
- There is no bark, this is because the texture for the block really doesn't like being any shorter than it is, obviously there is also no crafting table slabs, or chest slabs
- When crafting Lapis Slabs, Iron slabs, Diamond Slabs, or Gold slabs, use the blocks of those types NOT an ingot or ore.
- I plan to make different versions of this mod for different texture packs, say your favorite texture pack guys, and I'll try to make this mod for it!.
Future Mods
I plan to make a mod similar to this, except with stairs instead of slabs (probably have that out within 2-3 days.)
