Hah, I love how people think their intelligence on PMC is equivalent to their level over everyone else. "I don't need to take advice from someone who's only level 5!" Psssssshhhh.

Wouldn't Levelism be discriminating against people because of their lack of levels?

Levelism is most likely this. It occasionally--yet rarely--is discriminated against very high leveled people.

Levelism isn't even a thing. Of course people with higher levels are going to be more popular; they've put in the work and effort to get where they are.
This is as silly as expecting 17 year olds with no experience to have the same chance and opportunities as a 40 year old person with years of study and experience behind them at getting a high level job.

I understand your point, but I find that "levelism" is actually a pretty good way to indicate how much the person actually contributes to the site. It's true this doesn't apply in chat or the forum, since only submissions give you experience points, so I obviously can't generalize for that area of the site, but levels on PMC are a lot like video views on Youtube. Someone with lots of levels is more likely to be noticed and have some good content because viewers can easily see many people have taken an interest in that person before, based on their level.

Truely unique people who find popularity here are noticed extremely quickly, usually within a few days. These people start at level 1 just like the rest of us. Maddie is a good example of this. She popped up on the site suddenly and found pretty instant popularity with a little bit of talent. Low level people who "do their best" and aren't "popular" just don't stand out enough, as harsh as that sounds. They also almost never advertise their work. It really irks me when people make threads or blogs complaining about how they aren't noticed when they do nothing to advertise. We aren't mind-readers. We have over a million users and tons of submissions. Skinning especially has competition due to all the poopy skins people hammer out in an attempt at popularity, instead of actually trying. That makes it much harder to get noticed unless you're a truely exeptional skinner.

Theres also the problem where skinners try their best, and all they get is 30+ views, 2 downloads, no favorites or comments, but they have a lot of subs, but it seems they never do anything except sub cause they found a skin that they like, and maybe download it, sub, and walk away and ignore the person's skins, and they have to post heavily shaded skins just to get to the pop-reel, and noticed, not through subs. I honestly think sub's don't matter for unnoticed. I think how much the skin(s) of that person gets counts as noticed or unnoticed. Cause, like said before, they can have a lot of subs but 2 percent of their subs (And non-accounted people) actually care for their submissions, other then just view it and walk away.
