Before we start, if you missed me, IM SO SORRY! I didn't expect this to happen. So to make up for it, I'll make a BIG update to The Vims. Without a further due, lets start.

2-3 Days ago, I was in my first period class using my computer. Then all of a sudden, it crashed. I force restarted it, and the MacBook displayed a blinking folder with a question mark, stating that it couldn't find the file. I talked to some IT maintenance worker, and they said my Hard Drive (HD) failed. The same day, I found a video that had a solution to this problem. After watching it, I found out it was the SATA (Serial ATA/Serial AT Attachment, Really Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) Cable. So I unscrewed the bottom of the MacBook. BTW, this is my FIRST time ever modifying computer components.

After taking out the HD, I realized why the SATA Cable failed. Today (Friday 9/21/2018), I got the new cable, and replaced the older one. And take a guess what happened..

It worked! I saved probably $91-$200, by only spending $9 to get the new SATA Cable. During all of this, my mom was telling me to just let the Genius Bar take care of this. When the replacement worked, it changed her mind.

How did this happen? Well, in 2011-2012, Apple was manufacturing the 2011-2012 MacBooks. There's a flaw that messed up the MacBook root file checking system. Apparently, they decided to place the SATA Cable under the hard drive WITH NO AC! *facepalm* I don't get how they messed that up. Thats the easiest solution.

What to take from this? Well, the lesson here is: Search for other ways to fix the problem before you do the Worst solution. I'll see you later when I update The Vims. Bye!
