The Car Ride to Maryland
The car ride to Maryland was four hours long. We had to take two car because we had seven people with us. I sat with two of my cousins, and my dad (who drove.) I read the sequel to If I Stay, Where She Went. I finished the book at the three hour mark. For the last hour, We played the License Plate Game, where you spot a license plate from out of state (The state you are not currently in) and say it out loud. When we arrived at our hotel in Maryland, we checking in, and went up to our room. Right after that, we got in our cars to go to the Metro.
The Metro to Washington DC
Luckily, we weren't riding the train on rush hour, because it wasn't crouded at all. All seven of us got seats, and we talked most of the way. If anyone lives in the city, you know all the conductor says is "murrhuuhaauuhaa." (No offense)
Walking Around DC
First, we all went to the food court in the International Trade Center. After that, we took some pictures of the awesome buildings and statues. Then, our family took some pictures of the White House. The lawn is gorgeous! My cousin and I took a piece of grass from the lawn. XD. We walked over to the Butt-Millet Memorial fountain, and I dumped the water out of my water bottle and scooped up some of the water, and some moss. We took some pictures of the Washington Memorial, and bought some icecream. We walked up to a building, and sat there and ate our icecream. After I finished mine, I took a sip of water. The water from the fountain. The water that everyone stuck hands in. The water that had moss in it. Yep. My mom said I'd have to be president now!
The Metro Back to the Hotel and Dinner
We accidently left during rush hour, so the train was crouded so much! I hate being in spaces full of people, so I did not enjoy this ride. I had to hold on to one of the poles in the isles. I crouched down, and my mom cracked up. She took a picture XD. Once we got to our hotel, we cooled down for a bit, then went to dinner. I started laughing because there was a big buff waiter who walked like C-3PO. Lol!
