BRANCH MINING

Branch mining is the safest way to get diamonds? Disadvantages is that takes 2 iron pickaxes or (2 diamond pickaxes if you choose more than 20x20 size) and you might run into a spawner.

Ok, first of all staircase mine all the way to your desired depth. Then continue straight on mining for about 20 blocks then choose another path and mine another 20 blocks and so on until you finished the fourth line. Then mine all the ''inside cobblestone'' and checked if you have your preferred ore. If you don't, no needs to worry you can easily make another one.

SPIRAL MINING

Spiral mining is when you start a mine in a staircase pattern or fashion. Simply dig 2 blocks (not 1) and dig 3 blocks ahead of you and below. You change into another way and dig 2 blocks except the tallest one (except for 1st staircase) and so on. It sounds confusing, right? Remember: dig in staircase and make sure you the stairs are 1 block tall not 2.

Advantages are that you build the mine by itself so you will know that you will quit when's night and continue the next day, and also you check all 4 ''dimensions'' so you will never miss a diamond that's one block ahead of you.

PINWHEEL MINING

Pinwheel mining is combination of branch and spiral mining and it's complicated. It requires a lot of pickaxes if you're building a big one, even diamond. So you will need to mine in staircase fashion and later after your desired depth make a big branch mine. Just follow the articles above and combine them!

It's really effective, I will say 80% to you, you must get at least iron in that mine (unless you are above y=64)
