There are many ways of mining in Minecraft, but what are the successful ones, and how are they done? This blog will tell you just that! These are in order of most successful. . . STRIP/SHAFT MINING Strip mining is where you get down to bedrock level and build a series of tunnels, 2 or 3 blocks apart from each other eventually you should hit diamond in at least one of the shafts. This uses up the least amounts of picks and gets many diamonds if your patient, and use many shafts. . . OPEN AREA MINING This technique is once you get 16 blocks above bedrock, you start mining a 16X16 hole. You keep mining down until you hit bedrock. 16X16 is a chunk and diamonds spawn at 16 blocks above bedrock. Theres one of every ore in each chunk, so your guaranteed diamonds & maybe emeralds! . . STAIRWAY TO DIAMONDS This uses less picks then open area mining but it way less successful. In this technique you basically make a 3X3 stairway and keep going until you hit bedrock, this can get you iron, coal and rarely gold, you'll almost never see diamonds or emerald. But still, i got my first diamond this way! . . MASSIVELY OPEN AREA MINING This is like normal open area mining, except this one you start from the surface mining 16X16 blocks until bedrock. This way gets you the most ores out of any other technique, but the reason its at the bottom of my list is because you can say bye bye to your picks!!! Hope this helps with mining in Minecraft, feel free to PM me any other techniques you've come across and i'll add it and give full credit to you! Thanks!
