This was the last adventure me and my dad went on in 2022. (I can't say this year because that now refers to 2023)

So, this adventure was a sort-of reunion for my dad and his friends, who I will not refer to by their real names, but rather the names Mike (who's Swedish) and Will (I was watching Stranger Things yesterday). Anyways, it began with me and my dad taking a train and then a bus (I had some leftover Christmas cookies on that ride) to OtterHouse Studios, a music studio in New York City where you can rent a studio to play in for a certain amount of time. I forgot when we were allowed in, but we had to leave by 6. Me and my dad left at 2, got there early, and had to wait outside for a bit before we went into the building to go into our studio.

While we waited, we walked around the block and got some more snacks (I got Doritos). My dad also got a coffee. Eventually, it was time to go in. We went inside, headed upstairs, and told the guy at the desk we were here for our reserved music studio, or something like that. He told us where to go, and once we got inside, we got set up (well, I did) and began playing.

I set up my saxophone, and my dad started playing on the piano. The studio he had gotten us had a piano, drum kit, and some amps. Mike is a drummer, and Will plays guitar. My dad wanted to play drums, but he never learned how, but he can play a little bit of the piano. And, of course, I play sax. I was practicing the songs for my concert (which is on January 10th) when the door opened and Mike came in! (He brought cymbals even though the drum kit already had them.) My dad wasn't sure if either of his friends would come, and he had invited others that didn't come. We hadn't seen Mike since last year, when we visited him and his family on Christmas Eve before going to see No Way Home, and then he came over a few days later to watch Elf with us at our apartment.

Mike started playing drums, and after about 10 minutes, Will arrived. He set up his guitar and played a little bit of some different rock and metal songs. He was telling us that he no longer believes Metallica is better than Megadeth, and now he's a Megadeth. However, he did play a bit of Metallica's "Fade to Black" and "Master of Puppets," but also some Megadeth songs. Mike positioned a (Why did I nickname him Mike?) mic above my saxophone so it would sound louder, and I play a little more.

After a break of playing with my new Legacy Iguanus and my plush T-rex Grimlock (the inspiration for my profile pic), I played "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites the Dust" on the piano, since the notes were the same. Then, I showed Will how to play, and also played with him by playing the sax while he played the songs on guitar. (Also, I used my dad's phone to see the sheet music because I had to keep the paper copies at school in my Band folder.)

Me and Will also "jammed" together (as he called it) and just played different notes. Eventually, I got bored of playing and played some games on my dad's phone (because I forgot mine at home in my other backpack). Soon enough, it was time to leave, so Will gave us a ride home in his car. (Oh, and we also took a Polaroid of the drum kit before we left, but it didn't come out so my dad's gonna print out a picture of the four of us instead.) He dropped Mike off at the 74th Street train station, and then drove us home. We got home around 7:30, ate dinner, I took a shower, then we watched an episode Stranger Things 3 and I went to bed.
