This short story explains Effyis' departure from the homeland of Upplysningen and her subsequent journey to Antarkrtis.

With the academy gone, the two siblings have nowhere to go. The Lands of Eternity already covering their little "incident", and the dynasty kept busy with its own affairs.
And to add to more problems, Aisleen and these odd allies have already emerged triumphant. With the Nameless Emperor dead and his bloodline abruptly ended, there was no stopping the Dragonlord's ascent for power. It's time for the Empire of Upplysningen to rise.
The Council of Thirteen is formed. However, it's apparent that it truly has no intention of sharing responsibilities with those they supported. Of course, it was pro-draconian, and they imposed their undying will on the populace. Only the recently-appointed Prime Minister, Mai Linh was able to hold these extremist ideas at bay.
And thus, the Dragonlord sought to fill in the last vacancy within the Council. A potential candidate with an unique background. One that would inspire the populace to uphold their own traditions and lead the Empire to everlasting prosperity.

Rumors circulated that it could have been Effyis that will complete the full circle, having knowledge of the previous tragedy. However, contrary to common sense, she didn't. Finding no place among the new order, she declined the offer from the Dragonlord itself, claiming she was never ready to be indulged in petty politics.
Instead, Effyis decided to exile herself from the society, but her brother had to be left behind for the seat.
And so, she departed from Upplysningen using an gift from Hemlighet: an airship of arcane properties. In the meantime, her brother would be inducted into the tutorship of Mai Linh, who would take care of him until he was wise enough to uphold his duty as the honorary member of the Council.

A few light years later.
Her ship had approached a planet. But it crashed immediately into a nearby continent upon contact with an ancient Meteor Fly (only its carcass, of course).
