This short story explains the writings of an alchemist adept, Zloyi-Lanaid in his last throes in the Verdun outskirts, after avenging his superior and killing Cassandra's only nameless advisor.

That sorcerer used his darkness to overpower us. None of us remained to witness what happened.
- Lord Alchemist! No!
I could recall only the execution as the Lord Alchemist met her end at that time.
There is no error. The Lord Alchemist lays dead.
And yet I couldn't do anything at that time...
I don't know who he is... or what his motive is... but our expedition got halted.
The University of Alchemy will not be pleased about this death of a prestigious mentor, who once successfully advocated for a comprehensive approach inside our curriculum.
I remember having spent time with her. That Lord Alchemist was once Leitourgia, one of the appointed masters of our school of Alchemy.
I could have created an elixir of life to bring her back into the fold. But now...
Forgive me, Leitourgia. I failed you. However, your efforts to lead us into greatness shall not be forgotten.
