It's getting kind of old, having to deal with this stuff on the daily.
I play a lot of PVP-style minigames. Everywhere there is competition, there is the fellow sore loser. Whenever I absolutely kill the game and do three times as good as everyone else, there is sometimes the person that calls out "hacker" and accuses me.
I don't mind all of the time, but I do get very annoyed in certain cases. Before I absolutely snap one day and get banned from the server for flaming, I wanted to make a blog.
This blog is for you, if you find yourself accusing people a lot, want to feel guilty, or if you just want to read what I got to say.
Hacking has become a quite popular way to ruin the game in Minecraft these more recent years. I swear, back in my day when I first had Minecraft in 2011, hackers were very rare. These guys were very legit, no pre-made hacked clients or malicious mods, they actually developed their own, and were the bane of all server owners. The only thing owners had to really worry about and take action towards back then, were griefers.
Along with the inception of anti-grief plugins and custom-coded servers with minigames to suit the low attention span of the younger community, the Minecraft hacked client began to spike in popularity. Why?
Pre-made hacked clients were revolutionary. Hacking no longer took coding-skill, all you had to do was download. Even the worst PVP players, could become legendary with the aid of hacked clients. They gave you flawless skill, minigames became your oyster.
It's cheating, you got nothing. It's practically digital steroids, enhancement drugs. Hacked clients are so easy to obtain, it's not a wonder why some people never take the time to actually develop skill anymore.
So how do you stop the spread of hacked clients? You can't. However you can stop the people using them on your local server, some make it so obvious, all it would take might be a screenshot. But others, not much so, you need video evidence. Your word doesn't count, screenshots don't usually count. Videos count, and moderator witnessing counts.
"That player beat me! They must be hacking!" Stop right there. You don't know that, you have no proof, maybe they're just really good. A thousand reasons could be why they beat you, and hacking could likely not be one.
How do you spot a hacked client?
- You can tell if a person is speed hacking, if they are running and there are no particles on the ground behind them.
- If you are behind somebody, and they hit you without even looking at them, and you are 110% positive you are not lagging, it is forcefield.
- If you are behind a player and they instantly turn around as you approach behind them, it's aimbot.
- If you have a teammate, and both of you get hit at the same time, aimbot.
- Bow aimbot is very useless. However, if the player is shooting arrows incredibly fast, it's fastbow.
- If they are very accurate with bows, and turn around at the exact split second a player appears, it's fastbow.
- If their hits are not at you, but you still take damage, forcefield.
- Remember, if it only takes a second or two to react, they are not hacking. It's just a fellow player with good reaction time.
Hacking is sometimes fairly easy to spot, it doesn't take a genius.
If you do see a hacker, don't announce to everybody in the chat that the player is a hacker, who cares. If you have the evidence necessary, leave that game, and get to work reporting to your server moderators on the forums. I'm sure you won't be seeing that hacker anytime soon.
Also, keep in mind if you do announce that a player is hacking, and they are not, you are on grounds for a harassment ban. I can easily report you for bugging me in the chat and unfairly accusing me. Imagine how dumb you would look.
To wrap things up, if you're using a hacked client, I'd suggest you get rid of it, and learn to develop natural skill. Losing is better than getting banned forever. If you accuse people a lot, think before you act.
Thank you for reading and Pop Reel! :)

PVP is not about skill anymore- You run it, eat a god apple, and swing. When your effects wear off, you eat another. And another.... and another..... I cant do it anymore. Its stupid as hell. Give me and any other player Iron armor, a diamond sword, 32 steaks, a power 1 bow and 8 stacks of arrows on nearly ANY MAP, and I can take them. Give us each 32 god apples, and it just goes on for 6 hours until one of us miss clicks or scrolls too far and doesnt eat the apple.
It is litterally the stupidest thing ever. :P
Artificial Skill does not only aplly to hacks.. lol
