I would just like to tell all of you who take enjoyment with stealing other people's stuff, destroying builds, and being an all around dick: Congrats, you've finally won. I had been hosting a creative server that was completely open to the public. But nope, not anymore. I have had to put it on whitelist. Now many people will be detered from joining my serer.
There is no excuse to want to greif. First off, it really does just waste your time, because servers have a way to roll it back. However, in the event that they don't, you do much more than just "troll" them. Some people take Minecraft very seriously, and when you pointlessly destroy their builds, you destroy part of them. I actually know someone who commited suicide because they loved minecraft, however their server just kept on getting greifed, and decided to end it all. Yes, I think that they were being too extreme, however, we can't ignore the fact that it actually happened due to you guys thinking that's it's fun to be little dicks.
Next time you guys are thinking about destroying someone else's build, and just being funny, remember two things. First, people spent their time and effort on that build, destroying it would be extremely rude, and not needed. Second, whenever you join a server, you leave your IP address, the owner can either two do things with it. 1: Send it to the FBI (It is a federal offense to vandalize privately owned internet property.) or if they wanted to have more fun, they could send it to a hack forums, and say goodbye to your internet for several years.
