1.7 has lots of new content. Lots. I mean its pretty epic. I like it when it updates,although I hatethat a lot of sh*t that happens to the servers, It's exiting to discover the new things. Here are my thoughts on each new thing added into Minecraft.
Acacia Wood / Planks
Yeah, It's pretty cool. It could totally help people who are making huge cotton trees with white wool. I like it... It's the first white wood (not covered in cow spots...:|) besides birch. also, I like those bright orange planks.
Dark Oak Wood / Planks
It looks exactly like the normal one. No offense, but Mojang... pointless invention.
All those flowers...
Wow! I found out about this update the dat after I wanted to make a rainbow garden. I was like.. He)) yeah! I am really surprised they made so many flowers :3 The two things I don't like is that they removed the rose (Why?!), and when you bone meal regular grass, it turns into double. That's really annoying me since I use that to make fields in superflat worlds.
Freaking huge Nether portals
I only have 3 things to say. Lawl. Me. Like
Fish and the Rods
I like the new fish. Yeah, I like seafood. My favorite is the pufferfish because you can eat it and get friggin drunk as he)). Also, I like the new encahntable fishing rods and the enchantments for them. My only problem is that I have no idea how to use either of them. Leave a comment if you know...:3
Packed ice n' Stained glass
New ice = pointless unless u luv igloos Stained Glass = Another great idea from Mojang. Heh, it's also useful for people who make skin contest machines and they want to have matching glass for the blocks the made it out of.
Podzol, Red sand, and Water breathing potion
The only thing I like about the blocks is that they are nice décor, and the potion is pointless.. I mean unless your going to play at the bottom of the ocean... or you are a mermaid
Those new biomes: All I have to say, is that's freaking awesome.

And the oak logs are a little bit darker, and it's just to give the big oak trees their own wood :)
