I'll open up with: sorry if I'm typing this completely wrong/in the section. Mostly just wanted to gripe about redstone circuits.

I'm currently working on a two story house (my first nice one,) and I want my stairs to have a cover of trap doors over it. Mostly to keep out spiders while I don't have a roof, but also to keep me from falling without having to take up floor space with a fence or what-have-you. My issue is that I want to have two levers, one downstairs and one upstairs, that will open and close my five trap doors. I'm still trying to figure out though how to make it so when I flip one lever, it not only opens/closes my trap doors, but but turns the OTHER lever on/off. (Whichever would be applicable at the time.)

Currently, if even one lever is flipped on, then the traps stay open even if the other is off. So for now I have to flip the first floor switch, go upstairs, open the second floor switch, go back downstairs to turn off the first lever, and then go back upstairs to close the THAT lever, which will then finally close the doors. (It was less of a pain to just click all the doors by hand lol)

I'm pretty sure after some looking that I need a RS NOR Latch, but I'm having a hard time visualizing it. (All the schematics show it as this tiny set up, seeming to power two different things.) I'll probably try asking in a forum or something what kind of gate schematic I should be looking for. In the meantime though, if someone who knows about redstone circuitry sees this, could you drop a comment letting my know if my hunch about needing a RS NOR Latch is right? Please and thank you!

(When I get home, I'll also start a project post for my house. There's finally enough done with it to bother mentioning lol)

Finally! Someone who can spell courtesy! :D Oh yeah, and there is a vertical RS Nor Latch and a bunch of other helpful redstone inventions here:

Well, if I'm being honest, I DID have to use Google to check "courtesy." My auto speller had no idea what I was trying to type on my first attempt lol
Thank you for commenting! I checked the video you linked, (thank you for that too!) and while it WAS informative, I'm now not sure if redstone can even do what I want it to do. I guess the only reason I think it should work, is because in my real-life house, the hallway light can be turned on and off from both the downstairs and upstairs switch. But after watching the video you provided... I don't know. Maybe this isn't possible? Oh well.
Thank you again for commenting! :D
