Welcome Ladies and Gentleblocks to another blog. I've been meaning to write on the topic of blogs for quite some time, however I've been preoccupied elsewhere with work and various other projects. I thought it was time for me to chat about what made me on PMC, Blogs.
Day in, day out, I see a multitude of wastage and verbal spillage being spread across the blogs section. Yes, things have changed since the days of my blogging and so has the content. As us moderators batten down the hatches and tighten up on the rules, the content in the blogs section will have to remain primarily about Minecraft or Planet Minecraft.
I must say however, the blogs section has slowly died over the past year. The repeated question blogs, emotional turmoil blogs, dramatic departure blogs, xp and view blogs really have killed it off. Rant blogs about 'budder' are actually becoming more frequent and more annoying than the 'budder' blogs themselves. I barely see any 'budder' blogs anyway apart from the rants!
After reading through the reports, I find myself going on a large and annoying tangent ploughing through hundreds of blogs that are only a paragraph long. Let me remind you that just because the blog character limit is set, doesn't mean you have to write JUST to that limit. A blog is meant to be a beautifully crafted piece of written content that contains detail and thought, not an angry grammarless set of 4 lines that just point out the obvious.
The point of this blog anyway is to try and motivate you blogging users to try and produce higher quality content or more bountiful content when writing blogs. Rather than writing a paragraph, try and think of other aspects to your topic and write a bit more. You'll not only keep the blogs section alive, but you'll also promote a new generation of impressive and rewarded bloggers.
Clearly, some changes to rules will be made soon but that doesn't stop you from writing about Minecraft, which is what this site is about in the end. It isn't called Planet Earth, its called Planet Minecraft. So stop all the depressing conundrums about how depressed you are or how the butterflies are looking today. No one cares aboutwhether gold should be renamed to butter, this is a site about Minecraft the game and what the community creates together, not about what a YouTuber's fanbase says or how annoying you find it.
Anyway thats it for my short yet effective blog (hopefully). I hope everyone's preparing well for the oncoming summer (or winter for you aussies) and that your Minecraft creations are going well.
