Problems with building? Had enough of the night stalkers and continuous visits from unwelcomed neighbors? Worry no more, because in this tutorial, I'll be teaching you step by step how and where you should build your house! This blog includes the following steps, Landscaping, Building, Exterior Decor, Outside Editions, Home Protection, Interior Decor, and more!

Step One: LANDSCAPING
Quick Tip- You should build your house near your spawn point! (Kind of a no brainer, right?)

Landscaping isn't a hard thing to do, but it is one of the most important things! Now, do you want
your house to look deadly, mysterious, or opened and cheerful? My answer would be opened and cheerful, but of
course yours could be different, and that's why I'm going to explain where to build a house for any option! In this
wonderful world of Minecraft there are many different places to choose from, so I'll just jump down to the basic
options. You will most likely spawn outside, whether it be on a random island in the middle of no where, on a
mountain, a forest, or a field. Now, keep in mind that you should stay close to your spawn point, but in no means do
you have to build right on it. Remember when I mentioned what kind of feeling you want your house and land to give
off? Here are some choices-
Deadly
-A cave (near your spawn point)
-A dungeon
-Anything similar

Mysterious
-House in the middle of no where (like a desert or deserted island)

Opened & Cheerful
-In a field with flowers (Haha, this is for opened)
-A forest (Not opened, but cheerful unless you kill the grass :0 )
-A snowy area

If your installing an overpowered mod like Mo's Creeps, you probably should live in a cave or high up in a mountain
so you don't have to worry about scientists and stuff building on your home....

Step Two: Building Your House
Quick Tip- Roofs do matter!

After your finished landscaping your ready to build. Look around your area. Did you choose a field?
A dark and gloomy area? Or a forest? Whatever you chose for your area, pick out something to use to build your
house. For example, in a forest you really should build your house out of wooden planks, to match your area.
Honestly, a sandstone wouldn't look good. Or if your in a cave, I suggest stone... But then again, you really don't
have to build any walls in a cave, just the doorway(: Or if your in a desert or on a beach, sandstone, stone, or wood
would work. But it doesn't really matter to me, YOU chose. Next is to pick out the size of your house. Do you want
it to be a mansion? Or a cozy cottage? I prefer an average sized home like the one in the title picture. Yes, that IS
my picture and MY design of the kind of house I want to live in, in case you were questioning it. To build a small
house, try a 5x5 size. An average home would be, 7x7 or 8x8. And a mansion would be 9x9 and up. But I'm really
just estimating ;) Note that that's just the size of the house, not how tall it can be. Next is the roof, and yes it does
matter! I like your average roof, triangle. But there really are many different options, triangle, dojo, circle (for a circle
house), flat, square, etc. If you are going to add a chimney it is important to make your roof stone!

Step Three: Exterior Design
Quick Tip- Windows make your house look bigger on the inside and roomier!

There really are only a few exterior things you can do outside, which I'm only going to cover just a
few. Windows are an important key, and it's important to make sure they correspond on each side! For example, on
my houses I add windows surronding the front & back door and I put windows on EVERY side of the house. I like
putting the windows in the middle of a wall. For example on a 4x4 house (This is a REALLY small house with only
four spaces on the inside) you would have 2 windows. Every time you added 4 more blocks on that wall going up,
you would add 2 more windows. Another cool thing to add would be a porch! I love adding porches, it makes the
house look realistic. To make a porch, I suggest using wooden planks (so it matches the stairs and the rails) and
making it as long as the house. Look at the title picture for an example of what to do. It should at least be 3 blocks
long. To liven up the porch, add fences and stairs. If you want to put a porch on top of it, stack fences until they
reach the bottom of the next porch so it looks like the fences are supporting it. Another thing to add would be a
chimney which are commonly brick. You CAN put the chimney place in the house, but I wouldn't for fire safety
reasons. It really is a fire hazard, but to add a fire to it put Netherrack 1 block down from the top of the chimney
and add fire (that's NOT lava.)

Step Four: Outside Editions
Quick Tip- Pools or ponds can be a good outside protection method to slow down creeps!

You want the outside of your house to look nice, correct? So it would be nice to add more too it!
Here are some things you can add outside- Pond/Pool (probably not a good idea if your on the beach), trees, a
garden, bushes (leaves), etc. I don't think I need to walk you through how to plant trees or a garden so I'll just start
with the Pond/Pool. Now, stone would make a good base of a pool, but I suggest MOSSY stone for a pond to give
it that realistic look. Also, when planting bushes you have to have a base of wood to top the leaves on, so I suggest
digging up the dirt around the area you want your hedges, and putting down wood and putting the leaves on top. This
is so you don't actually see the wood.

Step Five: Home Protection
Quick Tip- Don't shock a creeper because it will turn into a ticking time bomb!

Who likes the night zombies peeking through your windows, or the morning creepers when you step
outside and see them, their so excited the just might explode just to greet you! Or the Skeleton who loves you so
much they want you to sign the repeated arrows they fling at you? Not me. In fact, it's annoying, and instead of
playing on Peaceful, why not just create a home defense system? Oh the irony(: Haha okay, there are many ways to
protect your home, and a lot that I WON'T explain because their to long. Here are some you can look up- Flaming
arrows, a regular arrow shooter, cannons, etc. Here's some I'll walk you through, TNT (place it FARRRR from your
home) and amoat. Their both pretty self explaintary (or however you spell that word).... A moat, basically build water
all around your house but yes, it has a problem because when trying to escape your to close for comfort neighbor,
you could have a problem getting up your porch staircase, so the moat really isn't suggested. TNT, eh I guess it's
pretty good other then the fact you have to go and plant it again the next day..... Actually, I REALLY
suggest you look up the arrow and cannon things ;) <-The cannon idea is pretty awesome, here's a good link to
a Youtube page (it's my brother's) on how to build a cannon-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI4padpEL7c&feature=channel_video_title <-That's my OLD skin in that video...

Step Six: Interior Decor
Quick Tip- Making furniture come with their own tutorials!

I count the walls and floors in this paragraph too. It's really simple you guys, pick a color for a
carpet or a shade of wood for a floor. If your in a cave, you really should just use the floor that's there unless it's lava.
Walls, you CAN add a different color but I suggest just keep the block that you choose to make the house out of...
Making furniture, I won't go into that because there was a recent blog on that. Well not recent, but VERY popular. I
will leave it to him to explain. Beds are essenial and so are chests and crafting areas. If you have a mod, such as
Mo's Creatures, leave ALL animals OUTSIDE. Build a stable. The animals WILL end up crowding the house. It's
okay to have a bunny or a wolf, but cats you probably should leave outside because they have a lot of things that
they require like a bed and a litter box, and those items alone can destroy the nice look of your house on the inside.
Unless you have a mansion and added a room for it that is.

I really hope this helped, if I didn't cover something please go to my original blog and see if it's there! Sorry it's such
a big blog, but there's a lot to cover! Kkkkthxxbaiiii!!!
