Cast magic spells! - VANILLA MINECRAFT
There will be an explanation at the bottom of this blog :D
For those who can't be bothered or are confused with this you can download the world and see the redstone and maybe use this to guide you. Click to Download World!
So if you have found this blog and you have been wondering how people have made magic spells (Looking at you CitrioN no help from you! xD) so I decided to share it to everyone :D so this command block that says "Spell - Withers Wrath" I recreated that from CitrioNs minigame "Reign Of Wizards" and here is the command for it: /scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] spell 1 {OnGround:1b,Item:{id:minecraft:coal}} ,put all of these command blocks in the same position as mine because if they are the same of different you will get the timing wrong and it will not work!
Now you want to add some cool looking particles to your coal item that lands on the floor. (This is optional but it really gives a cool effect!) The command block that says Particle - Wither Wrath the command for that is: /execute @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1,score_spell=1] ~ ~ ~ /particle iconcrack_263_1 ~ ~ ~ 0 0 0 0.25 1000 now that will make it look like that item has just exploded on impact!
Now you want to add the effects to anyone that is in that area. The command block that says Effect Wither - Wither Wrath gives the wither effect for 3 seconds command is: /execute @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1,score_spell=1] ~ ~ ~ /effect @e[type=!Item,r=3] 20 3 1 true this command will make that player have wither effect for 3 seconds.
You can add as many effects as you like just change the effect but I added a new effect that adds slowness the command block that says Effect Slow - Withers Wrath the command for it is: /execute @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1,score_spell=1] ~ ~ ~ /effect @e[type=!Item,r=3] 2 3 1 true so therefore you can just add as many effects to that one spell as you like :)
Then the final command is to kill that item that has touched the ground and has a spell score of 1 the one that says: kill item with spell the command is: /kill @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1]
And the final result should be like this: (Look in spoiler :D)
Hope this helped everyone!
VVVVV Explanation VVVVV
/scoreboard: spell (For every spell you make you add 1 more onto it for example: Witers Wrath is spell 1 so if I added a spell called Fire Fury you would set the spell to 2)
/scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] spell 1 {OnGround:1b,Item:{id:minecraft:coal}} (Gives the item coal a score spell of 1 if it is on the ground so then you can mess around with the scoreboard)
/execute @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1,score_spell=1] ~ ~ ~ /particle iconcrack_263_1 ~ ~ ~ 0 0 0 0.25 1000 (Sends the particles to the spell with the score of 1)
/execute @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1,score_spell=1] ~ ~ ~ /effect @e[type=!Item,r=3] 20 3 1 true (Gives the wither effect to the spell with the score of 1)
/execute @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1,score_spell=1] ~ ~ ~ /effect @e[type=!Item,r=3] 2 3 1 true (Gives the slowness effect to the spell with the score of 1)
/kill @e[type=Item,score_spell_min=1] (Kills all spells after it has applied all of the effects)
