Hello,
I have been browsing like all people do. I noticed server ads in an undisclosed post
comment moderation needs to start. I'm not ranting on the mods, they do a great job.
The community needs to say something when they see it. I think there should be a
report button on every comment. you can see in the highlighted boxes this person just copied the
same server ad to get replies. Thanks for the time.

Thanks,
Halo

Hmm, personally, I think that's kinda putting mods where they don't belong. Sure, those posts you use as an example are blantant spam, but that submission's owner has the right to delete those posts himself.

Maintaining a system of self moderation makes sense...for one, it saves PMC resources (no new moderators are needed), plus, it keeps misunderstandings from occuring. For example, if I were to spam your blog with my server IP, you'd probably want to delete that, but if my buddy dropped his IP into some of my posts, I'd probably be OK with helping him spread his server. If an "unbiased" moderator or the userbase at large (via a report button) were to be responsible for determining "spam", both legit spam and a "buddy posting his ad" would be flagged, tagged, bagged and deleted.

...and that's not even getting into the whole can of worms that "report abuse" can turn into.
