Hello Diamond Miners I’m Diamonddozen and welcome to DiamondBlog: Blogs done the WRITE way.
Welcome to a new series that is based heavily upon the Youtube series Game Theory. I figured that I could do the exact same thing except in a blog and only about Minecraft. Basically what I’m doing is coming up with amazing theories about anything to do with Minecraft. Today’s theory: when does Minecraft take place.
What Mojang Tells Us
Everywhere I look Mojang is saying that Minecraft takes place in the medieval days. This is very plausible. Probably in all my research, the most plausible. There are so many reasons why this could be true and I believe it every way possible.
What Other Players Tell Us
I’ve seen a lot of people giving this theory: the year XXXX or Year 1. Essentially what they saying is that Minecraft is in the beginning of time. This is also plausible, just not as plausible. If you couldn’t tell I like the word plausible. I assume it comes from the word applause, but I could be wrong. You know what they say about assuming (Diamond!!!!!!! I swear to god GTFO).
My Theory
My theory is that Minecraft comes from around the time of the Black Death. For those who are unaware of what this is; the Black Death was a breakout of the bubonic plague primarily between the years 1348-1350. The bubonic plaque is when parasites chew away at your flesh and cause you to have massive breakouts of flesh. This theory is definitely not for the children.
The reason I say Minecraft is in this time, is because of all the evidence. First let’s talk about the whole flesh ordeal. What’s the thing that drops from zombies when you kill them? Rotten flesh. What does the bubonic plague do to you when it gets into your body? Rot your flesh. Do you see the connection? The Black Death turned people into slightly more disgusting forms of zombies. When zombies bite villagers the villagers turn into zombies. The bubonic plaque is contagious and can turn other people that come in contact with someone (or something) that has the plaque, in to zombies as well.
Now for the skeletons. During my research I came upon the painting Danse Macabre which loosely translates to Dance of the Dead. The picture shows skeletons dancing around a dead body. Coincidentally enough, in the time period of the Black Death a common weapon was the bow and arrow. Anyone who plays Minecraft will know that Skeletons will almost always wield a bow. They also do that weird hopping motion that can be mistaken as a dance. Here’s the picture:
As for giant spiders and creepers there is no explanation for that. I couldn’t ever figure it out and I believe it’s understandable as to why.
That was the first ever Craft Theory. I understand the evidence was fairly lackluster, but I did this in a night. I hope to a Craft Theory once a week so that I allow myself more time to research interesting topics. Speaking of which, why don’t you guys suggest some? I would also love to hear YOUR theories on when Minecraft takes place.
