Hello, fellow Planet Mincrafteers.
Recently I have been getting a bout of "Creator's Block" (No pun intended), and I though I might post this little blog on how to deal with these annoying bouts of restraint. Using these tips that I (believe I) created, I have since found something to make, after several failed attempts at other things, and wish to share these four solutions with you.
#1) Google it.
If you are having trouble thinking what do build, but have an idea of what it is you want to build, try googling your idea. There are usually hundreds of websites, images and other stuff that will have info and inspiration for you build.
#2) Play Around.
If you have absolutely NO IDEA what to do: place a block, then build around it. Usually, you have an epiphany by the time you've placed 10 or more blocks in a random shape, and can use method #1 to build on your ... build. This method really works well for me.
#3) Look at Others.
Sometimes looking at creations that others have made you say to yourself: "Man, I wish I could build that!" or, "That's so awesome!". Why not give it a try? There's nothing and no-one to stop you. Just be careful no to completely rip-off their build. That's not cool guys.
#4) Update your Own Work.
I find that going back over my previous work, and fixing various elements of it, helps to find a way on something that I can improve. Take circles, for example. Circles are (sometimes) a pain to build in mine craft if you don't know how. With every build, I try to include at least on circle in it, so that I improve my technique, and think of new ways to include this in another Project.
Thanks for reading this guys, I hope it helped you. I will be adding to this list as I can think of more ways. If you want to post an early, uncompleted Project of my new Airship: The Voyager, I shall.
