This is for those people who need some help with their maps. What I say is just my opinion. If you have different view's tell me. Tell me what you disagree with and why, or tell me if I missed something. Thanks :3
1. Don't use points
When I say points, I'm talking about those maps with "Find diamonds for score!" Okay, Wtf is the point of that. It doesn't do jack unless you use them for something. Score is just....... stupid.
2. Make a story line
A story makes even the most dull and boring maps into amazing creations. Sometimes a story line might not work though (Like a parkour map :P) But a lot of the times it's a nice thing to have
3. Use redstone things
Impress people with cool contraptions. Something as simple as a piston door is much cooler then a wooden door.
4. Use every element of Minecraft
What I mean by this is, use everything you can. Glitches, other dimensions (Nether and End) There are many things like tnt cannons that add excitement into the map.Take advantage of Sand and gravels gravity, use potions and armor for things like a lava guard, like, instead of a door, use lava. They can't get across without dying, unless you give them Fire resistance armor or potions. This can be helpful for people who aren't good with redstone and can't make a piston door open from a far distance. Use things like spider's climbing or Skeletons shooting, or even creepers blowing up
