This is how to build one of my first traps. i will also explain it here.

you will need

wood (not wood planks)
tnt
sand
pressure plate

step 1: dig a 2x2x3 hole (2 wide 2 long 3 deep)

step 2: fill the bottom of the hole with tnt

step 3: put sand on top of each tnt

step 4: put a wooden pressure plate on top of each sand block (must be wooden pressure plate or else it will not work)

step 5: build a tree similar to a jungle tree (2x2xT (T is a variable of how ever tall the tree may be))

ADVANCED

At this point, you have built a tree trap, now to make it even more deadly

follow this diagram

R=redstone

Be= any block that can be destroyed with redstone torch attached to block facing redstone

what should happen is the redstone at the back should be turned off until the tnt blows up the redstone at the front, which turns on the redstone at the back, activating the tnt at the back make the traps blast radius much larger.

This can be done multiple times and can be great in survival maps or something like vechs race for the wool because wood the the main resource.
