Hey Guys!
Seal Overlord here.
P.S. This is NOT to hate the people who haven't made original blogs.
P.P.S I do know that this blog is not original, don't point it out!
I spend most, if not all, of my PMC time on the blog section (been doing so for a few years(I have another account)). Recently, I have noticed that the blog section doesn't get as much love and attention as it used too.
You see, back in ye olde days when I was younger, I would look at the pop reel and see that the posts were original AND had lots of attention, at the very least they had 50+ diamonds! Some even had up to 250! But now, it's just a few art blogs and some survival guides only getting 15 diamonds at the max. What happened to the blog section? Most of the blog section now is just art blogs and reviews/interviews, very original... Heck, I've even seen blogs on the pop reel about movie reviews (no hate to the people doing those!). But, how many original Minecraft posts can you make before it becomes unoriginal? This is the problem.
Minecraft is supposed to be a sandbox game where the stuff you can make are limitless, but even that has its limits (somehow). Very few things are original nowadays. The most original thing I have seen all day is the blog about "The 5 types of people on creative servers" (shoutout to CreeperInParidise for making that blog!). I guess the only path that we can take is the unoriginal path...
Just please try to be original as possible, it would make me and many others happy!
Shoutout to the people who made original blogs!

Snow <--- She even made a blog like this one!
And all the others who have made original blogs!
Anyway!
Thanks for reading!

Another thing that I have noticed is that the blogs are posted hours apart but before they were posted within minutes of each other.

death-of-the-blog-section---what-happened

Also, I make interview and reviews blogs, and I try really hard to make it original and imformative. Just because most interviews/reviews on this site aren't that good, doesn't mean ALL interviews/reviews are bad.
Yes, the blog section is not as popular and as good as it was years ago, but to say it's dead is ignorant.
I do see where you're coming from.
Also, I feel like all other sections of the site have also been on a steady decline on the originality and quality front, the problem with the blogging section seeming to face the brunt of it is due to the fact that everyone always points it out. Because of the nature of the content we post in this area of the site, people can easily express to the community how bad they think the blogging section has become - because of the swirl of chatter making everyone focus on the blogging section's problems (as opposed to other sections which, although face similar problems, don't recieve much attention about them) people are just constantly force-fed information that the blogging section sucks.
And about the examples of originality in the blogging section - I know that the 3 people listed did once produce original blogs, but 2 of them haven't posted any content in over 7 months and so I can't understand as to why you would provide old examples for quite a relevant topic? There are still people now who strive to produce that originality on a regular basis, Chron, Zath and Pikamoar (to name just a few users) are forever producing original stories, the member "Space" uploaded a fab blog about colonizing Venus a few days back (I don't think people can get more original), GrayRemnant's thorough "Week in Review" series never fails to delight, and roobub's "Mine your Manners" comic is forever entertaning. I just feel like these people would have made a better guideline for originality as they are current to the section.
Although I have left a lot of critique, I hope you don't take anything too much to heart - I have tried to just give my thoughts on the matter and express some opinions to perhaps improve your blogging in the future ... after all, if we are going to get out of the "Death" of the blogging section, we need to work together and constructively criticise one another to improve the quality of our content and propel the blogging section from the supposed misery it is in.
