Hello,ive done a blog post in a while, i have started a new series where you guys ask the definition os something and i will copy them from wikipedia. Heres an Example: The term “grass” designates in a broad acceptance any annual or perennial, non-woody plant, belonging to the Angiosperms (monocotyledons or dicots), generally green in color.

In a narrower sense, "grass" commonly refers to grasses, in particular forage grasses, which constitute grasslands, meadows and lawns, and the neighboring families by their morphology, juncaceae (rushes) and sedges (sedges).

Use
Herbs have a variety of uses such as culinary, medicinal (herbal medicine) or, in some cases, even spiritual. The general use is different between culinary herbs and medicinal herbs. For medicinal and spiritual uses, certain parts of plants may be withheld as "grass", such as leaves, flowers, seeds, roots, resin, berries, and sometimes the pericarp or other portions of plants.

More unfavorably, "grass" can designate certain categories of useful plants (fine herbs, medicinal aromatic herbs in general, herbs or officinals), or harmful (bad grass), but also in a slang use the cannabis flowers that are dried to be smoked for recreational purposes.

Culinary herbs
The culinary use of the herb is distinguished between herbs, leafy green parts of a plant, and spices, other plant parts including seeds, berries, roots, and fruits.

medicinal herbs
Main article: Herbalism.
Plants contain phytochemicals that affect the human body.

These compounds can have beneficial effects, when consumed in small amounts, or have beneficial effects when consumed in large amounts. Certain types of plants, such as St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) or kava (Piper methysticum) can be used medicinally to combat depression or stress. However, many of these herbs can lead to toxic infections that can lead to complications, sometimes serious, and should be used with caution. A substance, called Shilajit, can help fight diabetes [ref. necessary]. Herbs have been the basis of Chinese herbology for centuries1.

Linguistic
Main article: List of plants called herbs
The term "grass" appears in a large number of compound words or fixed phrases designating plants: tobacco has thus been historically called "queen's herb" or "ambassador's herb".

absolutely, the term also refers to the Cannabis Used (hemp or marijuana). “Grass” is also said to havehish in Arabic, which gave rise to the word hashish in the French language.

Botanical

Main article: Herbaceous plant.
Grass has no precise botanical definition, although some classifications, from Theophrastus opposing herbs to woody plants (trees and shrubs).

"Grass" is easily opposed to "tree" according to two criteria:

a consistency and biology criterion (soft, non-lignified plant). As such, the banana tree, although it reaches a height of several meters, is a “giant grass” which regrows each year from shoots; the pseudostem, formed by the interlocking of the leaves, is cut to harvest the bananas;
a criterion of size: woody plants are associated with small herbs, sub-shrubs, such as thyme, classified as "fine herbs", or heather, which make up the moors with grasses and other herbs. However, despite their appearance, coconut or palm trees (Arecaceae), are also giant grasses and not trees.
In the Raunkier classification (classification of biological types), herbs essentially correspond to:

to therophytes, plants that go during the bad season and survive in the form of seeds; these are annual plants;
and cryptophytes, plants whose aerial part dies in the bad season and which survive thanks to their underground part, bulb, rhizome or tuber.
Plant formations
Grass, mainly grasses, is the basis of characteristic plant formations that occupy large areas of the planet. These include tall grass (savannah in tropical and subtropical regions), low grass (natural grassland like the Eurasian steppe and its equivalent in North America, the Great Grassland, but also the pampas of Argentina, the veld of South Africa; esparto steppe of North Africa; low heath moorland of western Atlantic Europe; permanent and artificial grasslands of temperate zones and fields of cultivated cereals) as well as short grasses (tundra of sub-Arctic zones) ; lawn of the mountains.
