Hey guys, I'm here today with a blog on the confusingly simple matter of having differing perspectives. Not only is this an essential and common part of being human, but it can also cause many problems within any community (even the community of PMC). Perspectives constantly change our world, and they always have. In my perspective, they always will.
The Definition of Perspective
Perspective, in its most literal sense, is defined as "the way in which objects appeal to the eye based on their spatial attributes". I feel, however, as if it has the potential to be defined as far more than this. My definition of perspective would be somewhere along the lines of "the way in which an object or idea appeals to the mind of someone". I say this because when I think of perspective, I think of someone's personal opinion. Even though this most like occurs more often with objects over abstract ideas, it still applies to both. However, the definition of perspective can be argued all day in places all over the world, and this is possible because of the whole concept of perspective itself. Confusing, isn't it?

A Confusingly Simple Matter
I hate to have people be confused about what I'm talking about, so let's see if I can make this a bit simpler. Every person is entitled to their own opinion, or their own perspective. They can change this if they are convinced or seeing things in a different way, however it is their choice. The fact of the matter is simply that everyone sees things differently. No one thinks about everything the same way. And we're lucky that it is this way. I mean sure, it causes problems and confusion, but it gives us diversity. Imagine how boring our lives would be if everyone was the same. We have to accept the fact that we all have different opinions, and then maybe we can understand each other a little bit better. We have to look at everyone's side of the story.
A Few Quotes
Here are some quotes that I feel may help us understand perspective, or at least see it differently:
"One person's craziness is another person's reality"
-Tim Burton
"The question is not what you look at, but what you see"
-Henry David Thoreau
"No perspective, no perception. New perspective, new perception"
-Toba Beta
There also stands one amazingly common quote on perspective that is very hard to trace to a specific origin, as it has been said in many different ways. The most common one being:
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
This might be one of my favorite sayings regarding perspective, as it shows in a very simple and elegant way thateveryone sees things in a different manner.

Optimism, Pessimism, and Realism
These three, optimism, pessimism, and realism, may be the three largest and most general outlooks on life. They are very closely related to perspective, as it shows, in a very basic way, that everyone thinks differently. If you don't know what these three refer to, they are basically positive outlook, negative outlook, and realistic outlook (I'll explain this one a little more in depth.)
Optimism
Optimism refers to having a positive perspective on life in its entirety. The goal (or outcome) of being an optimist is to constantly look at things in a positive point of view, and always see the "bright side" of things. They see the glass as half full, rather than half empty.
Pessimism
Pessimism refers to seeing things in a negative point of view. People do not usually attempt to be like this, it's just the way they are. They see the glass as half empty, as if most of it's already gone and there's no point in bothering with the rest. They are the exact opposite on optimists, and this shows how differently people can see things.
Realism
Realism refers to the act of seeing things the way they are shown, and not interpreting them in any way. Realists tend to lean towards factual backing and scientific proof. Realism is a belief that is difficult to put into words. It's almost as if it is both optimism and pessimism, while at the same time being neither (sorry if I sound crazy). Realists see the glass for what it is, it is halfway between full and empty.
In Relation to Minecraft
I prefer to believe that perspectives occur in Minecraft every day, and even on Minecraft-related websites such as PMC. People see others's projects, blogs, skins, and texture packs in different ways. Some people try to look at them in the best way they can, while other people seek out the negatives of the work. Then there are the rest, who don't even have to be realists. They can just be people with their own opinions and their own preferences. These are things that they are entitled to. I may look at one of the top rated projects on PMC, and still be able to say that I hate it. Maybe it uses a building style I don't find detailed enough, or I don't enjoy the materials it's made of. However, I'm perfectly justified in thinking this, because that's my perspective.

In Conclusion
As I've stated already, perspective is a major part of life. Because of this, it would be pointless to attempt explaining it by myself. However, even while writing this, I've found out a bit more about something I thought I would never understand. And next time you go to tell someone their work is crap, or that they need to stop trying, think about what you've learned. Everyone has their own perspective, and so something that looks dreadful to you could look simply breathtaking to anyone else. Just remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Have something to say?
It's so simple. How can they not understand it? The person is simply spinning in relation to the universe itself. The universe won't be a perfect sphere. And even if it was, the person will have a one to infinite chance of being at the exact center. If you know the shape of the universe, and be able to see only that and the spinning person, you'd discover that the person is spinning around and around, in relation the the universe. Some people use too much math.
