Recently, the Royal Alessian Expeditionary Force performed a live demonstration of the capabilities of its forefront deterrent weapon. The Balefire Type Five-One-Two Pattern detonated to tremendous effect in full view of Alliance officials. Demonstrating the explosive force of the largest Balefire Type weapon in its arsenal, the Alessian Commonality shocked Alliance dignitaries as the device penetrated over forty layers of iron plating, and twenty-four layers of End Stone plating, making it the most powerful conventional arcano-tech weapon currently in service with the RAEF.

In a private demonstration with League officials, various Patterns were detonated, proving that the destructive radius of Balefire Type weapons is relatively small and that an increase in kilotons produces only a more penetrating explosion.

Tested against older Kyremian shielding systems, a Balefire Type Six-Four Pattern was detonated within the deflection radius, destroying the shielding node and rendering a section of the trial vessel (an early batch decommissioned Horizon-Class) undefended. Accurate gunnery from a standard Alessian Extended-Range Cannon was then used to further disable the vessel.

In other news, Kyremian officials have expressed interest in developing an improved launching system for all Balefire Types and negotiations on the rights to possess Balefire Type arcano-tech are underway.
