This is a dramatization of eating a sandwich.
Unwrapping the waxy paper that enclosed the sandwich, a warm, heavenly aroma met my nose. It was if deliciousness could now be detected by my nostrils. I licked my lips as I held the first half in my hands. Salami, melted cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes were just some of the delectable ingredients used in creating this masterpiece. My whole body was just about to tell me to devour the entire thing, but I used my feeble self control to keep myself from becoming a glutton, and eating the whole foot-long in one bite.
The sub met my mouth with a wave of flavor that just made warm all over. The crunch of lettuce, the spiciness of the jalapenos, and the jazzy taste of the southwest sauce made my tongue feel like it was in heaven. I swallowed, and my brain took over, and made me take my second bite of the sandwich. Again, the same feeling overwhelmed me. I set the sub down, and took a sip of the most refreshing soda I had drank in a while, Dr. Pepper. The liquid crashed through my mouth and into my stomach like the drinks kings were fit to drink. I resumed my consumption of the submarine of food, and chowed down.
Suddenly, I realized I was eating too fast. I stopped chewing, but as I feared, I was too late. My chest started panging with a light burning sensation that overwhelmed my whole torso. My friend sat down next to me, and ignited a conversation, but he stopped as he saw that I was having trouble eating. He gave me the hardest pat on the back I had ever felt, and suddenly, I felt better. The feel of a hard smack lingered on my spine for what felt like hours.
After I spoke, I realized I had one final bite left. I sucked the cup that held my drink dry, and rattled it to present to the universe that nothing was in it but the cool ice that had resided in it since the very beginning. I told myself that the meal was almost done, and plopped the last miniscule piece into my mouth. It didno t taste like before, it was much drier, probably because it was almost all bread, with only a few small shards of lettuce on it, and a few drops of the mouth-watering southwestern sauce.
I looked down sorrowfully at the waxy paper that I had just ripped open ten minutes ago, and fought back a tear. My meal was done. Carefully, I folded up the wrapping that once held the delectable sub. I got up, and unwillingly threw away the paper. I watched it as it descended into the darkness of the trashcan.
This, was eating a sandwich. Thank you for reading.
