This is a little tutorial that will teach you how to earn money from your submissions. You will need a level 20 or more account.
This technique has been used by me for a couple of months now and it has helped me to earn a little money from every update I publish.
Lets get started:
1. You will need a web-space to upload the actual files (uploading them on planet minecraft does not work). I recommend you use Dropbox or mediafire for this. Preferably Dropbox as it is a lot faster and offers more space.
2. Now you need an account on something called adf.ly, this service will pay you for people downloading your submissions. Please use this link to create an account.
3. Upload all your downloadable submissions to Dropbox(or mediafire).
4. On your adf.ly account go to tools / easy link and copy the first link you see, it will look like this:
adf.ly/*******/www.google.com (the stars will be a number). Copy the first section of the link:
adf.ly/*******/ .
5. For all your downloadable submissions use the copied adf.ly link followed by the url of the file uploaded to dropbox or mediafire (put it in the file mirror). Here is an example:
adf.ly/*******/https://dl.dropbox.com/u/ ...
6. Remove the files uploaded to planetminecraft.
7. This will redirect people to the file download using the adf.ly link so you get paid for every single download.
This technique will earn you money, free up some of the pmc server space and still provide everyone with a version of your submission.
Notes:
You must have level 20+ to be allowed to do this.
Earning money of submissions you have not created is a criminal offence (do not steal other peoples ideas or things will get nasty).
Make sure your submissions don't violate any submission rules.
Note to Mods:
I wasn't sure if this violates any rules. I have read the submission rules and this seems to be completely legal. Please inform me if I am violating any rule.
