I believe emerald is too difficult to find, being that there is no use for it besides decoration. Why not give a reason for players to hunt for this precious gem? And haven't you ever gotten sick of using the same weapon over and over again? Don't get me wrong, the sword is great, but don't you want more?
How about Emerald Elite weapons? Each will serve the same purpose: to kill, but with their own perks, such as range, damage, and speed. The 3 new weapon choices are as follows:

-The Whip (a normal leather whip bejeweled with sharp chunks of enchanted emerald to stun your enemies)
Very large range, Medium damage, Medium speed
-The Hammer (an intimidating war hammer with a thick handle and a large enchanted emerald head to crush your adversaries)
Short range, Max damage, Slow speed
-The Projector (a small, seemingly-harmless device that projects rays of extreme heat to set you enemy ablaze)
Max range, Low damage, Continuous speed
-The Dagger (a sleek dagger with an enchanted emerald blade that is precise and always seems to do critical damage)
Minimum range, High damage, Max speed
-The Crossbow (a seemingly normal crossbow with supernatural accuracy (no gravitational restrictions) which uses enchanted emerald shard bolts as ammo)
Max range, High damage, Minimum speed

These weapons will not break and must be crafted with emerald blocks, rather than only emeralds, for they would possess a greater power than any before seen on Minecraft! We need more diamonds!!
