In the minecraft 1.8 pre-release i noticed a couple things about the endermen. First, they drop there block that they picked up at sunrise, they currently do nothing with the block, and when they attack you, they look like an endermen with a skull as head, mouth open. Also there attack pattern is rather intricate. First, you look at them, then they teleport at you, they hit you once, teleport behind you and hit you again, then you die. Also they are peaceful until they are disturbed, either by you looking at them, or you attacking them. If you have more questions's about 1.8 leave a comment and i will try to answer them.
