What? I'm making something other than a theory?!? This is possible?!?

There's a topic I want to bring up, that is a huge problem for me, and probably for others too. Faction scams. Factions is a cool idea, don't get me wrong. It sounds fun. Build a base! Get others in! Raid! Become the strongest faction on the server! But scamming in factions is different. I got curious, so I did an experiment. I tried 5 factions servers, and asked to join a faction, and 80% of the time, I was scam raided. 80%! Can you even believe that?

If you don't know what scam raiding is, there's two types. One is where someone asks to join a faction, and they raid you, and the one I'll be talking about, where you get let into a faction, and get killed.

I've had many encounters with scams. I don't like being scammed, and I'm sure you don't either, so here's a list of things that'll help you avoid being scammed.

-If someone tries to persuade you by saying stuff like, "Our faction is rich," it's more than likely you're going to be scammed. They're trying to get you into the faction to kill you. Either that, or they're desperate for people.

-If someone lets you into a faction, and says do /f home, and wont let you /tpa, it's probably a scam. This is because they either have a trap at their faction home, or they're ready to kill you right when you go there.

-If you're accepted into a faction, and the people there spend an uncomfortable amount of time crouching, jumping, blocking their shields, RUN! IT'S A SCAM! They're trying to get your trust, so you wont see the scam coming.

-If you're accepted, and everyone there stands still, IT'S A SCAM. They're probably PMing(Private Message) each other to tell the others to kill you.

If you're someone who scams, and even after reading this, you're still going to scam people, think of it this way: Your goal is to become the best faction on the server. To become that, you need people, so you base wont be over-claimed. When you're killing someone in a scam, you're really just killing you chances at winning.

If you are deeply worried about being scammed, try these tips to create a powerful faction, scam free!

-If you're helper/moderator, or any kind of staff member, go to some other staff, and say that you'll have strong, staff powered faction.

-If someone wants to join your faction, and you don't trust them, show them an old or fake base, and see how they react to it. Then once you trust them, say you've made a new one, and bring them to that.

-If the server has any other minigames, play there, and try to befriend some people. Then you can casually say, "Hey, wanna play factions?"

-Simply get someone who doesn't really play servers, or at least doesn't know the basics to factions. Scamming probably wont cross their mind.

-Get friends that you know if real life, and play with them! Then they can get people they know, and it'll keep branching out!

-Get into a Skype thing with the people that are in the faction you want to join. This way you'll get to know them, and they'll get to know you.

I hope you've enjoyed this blog, and I hope that some of these tips will help! I'll probably update this with more stuff, but in the mean time, check out all my other blogs!

On top of what you had said, I'd like to add that it's a good idea to hop into Skype with said faction that you'd like to join to see what kinda people they are. Also so they can see you're legitimately trying to join a faction, and not raid them. Works trust in both parties.

Man, I can totally relate to that. So many unfortunate experiences way back then. :P
Now I pretty much stick to being alone when I'm on any survival server. I'm too afraid to build a home above ground, and tend to only venture out when there is literally nobody else on for fear of being found.
