The creeper is a very unique mob in the giant ocean of Minecraft. It's
color scheme is random, very destructive, and is told to have been
created on an accident. What if I told you, that all of this was for a
reason?
Many people recognize this iconic as a creeper, but what
was it based off of? Many other mobs are simple, like skeletons for
example, but creepers are just...there.
Hopefully once you read this, you can have a better understanding of this mob.
The most iconic thing about this mob is it's exploding feature. Build a
cool house? BOOM! What's really interesting, is that the creeper is the
only mob with a real griefing ability. Technically, endermen can grief
too, but they will either die while dropping the block, or place it
somewhere else. It also has the weirdest color scheme. White and many
shades of green. Green. Sound familiar? Most of a Minecraft world is
made up of green, like leaves, grass, cacti, etc. Why is this important?
That's because the creeper is based off of a BUG.
I'm not saying it IS a bug, but it could very well be based off of it. Think
about it. It's color scheme is just taking random textures throughout
the game and mixing it into one entity. The white spots? They're the
empty spots that aren't filled. It's the only mob who has a serious
griefing ability, and it goes around ruining the game-playing
experience, by ruining what the game is made of at its core. Building.
To strengthen this even further, Notch has told that the creeper body
shape was created on a total accident! I wont go over the whole story,
but he basically switched a thing on the appearance of the pig, and he
liked the design he made it into a mob. An accident, huh? Sounds a lot
like an accidental bug in the game.
This isn't one of the best
points in this theory, but maybe he's based off of a bug because he,
"bugs," you (I'm sorry, couldn't stop myself).
Anyways, thanks for reading this! Be sure to leave comments :D
