Hello there. I am Fred Wuth. Last time i promised to tell you the stories of my life. That is why you're here isnt it? Yes? Well I suppose I'll start from the beginning. So without further ado, let us begin.
I was 6 years old. The day started like any other. I woke up fairly early, as was going to meet my best friend Stephen. Stephen was... different from all the other kids. He lived alone in a log cabin in the woods, and had no family. He was interesting and that was why I got on with him so well.
Stephen lived in a log cabin in the woods just outside of town. I headed to his small hut, like on so many days, humming a happy tune. After about ten minutes I saw the log cabin throuhg the trees. It looked the same as always. A tad run down from the outside. One shutter was lying on the ground, bark was peeling off all the logs and there was a broken window. None of that bothered me though. I had been there so often and knew it was perfectly safe.
"Hey Stephen! Are you there? It's me Fred!" I called, cheerful as ever and expecting the usual "Give me a sec I'll be right there!". I waited, but the reply never came. That was unusual, but it had happened before. Sometimes I just wasn't loud enough. I called again, but alas, still no answer. I began to get worried. Slowly I crept to the door and opened it. No sign of Stephen. I walked around, looking for him. Still nothing. When he wasn't sleeping in his bedroom I really began to worry. Being only six I thought a monster had eaten him. Then I noticed his belongings were all gone. He had left!
Now Stephen wasn't just my best friend, but also my only friend. So that evening I packed a bag and climbed out of my window, leaving a note to my parents to explain where I had gone. I was going to find my friend.
