It can be hard choosing what company to choose when it comes to public server hosting. There's hundreds of companies out there! If you're unsure of what company to choose, this guide will be your best friend.

There are 3 musts that you must go by to find the right company for you. This article shows everything you need.

#1 : Reviews.

On your free time, do some research and see what people say about different companies. One website that I found very useful was bestminecrafthosts.com.

I recommend you find a company that has at least 50 positive reviews, and at most 10 negative reviews. Keep this ratio in mind : 5:1. There should be at least 5 positive reviews per negative review. If your company does not meet this ratio, cross them off the list. Note that if there are only 5 positive reviews but only 1 negative review, that doesn't mean you should go with that company. You only have 6 opinions there, some that could've been fake accounts made by the company. Go with a company that has lots of reviews.

I would also recommend actually reading the user reviews. Some of them go in detail about the company, and that's exactly what you need to help pick your comapny.

#2 : Prices

By this, I don't just mean look for the cheapest price. Some of the servers that are the cheapest may offer laggy and horrible service. Once you've found some companies that share good reviews, then it's time to go price hunting.

The price per gigabyte (1024 MB) should idealy be around $11.99 per month. If it's one or two dollars off, that's not that big of a deal. But if it's, for example, $16.99 per month, you should look at other companies. One company I found to be expensive was FragNet. Although they offer $12.99/month per gigabyte, they only recommend 20 players, while other companies recommend 30 players, so keep that in mind.

#3 : Service

A lot of people underestimate this feature, but let me tell you, this might be the most important of all. A company with great service is key. If something's wrong with your world, you need to ask the provider to fix it. If they have good ervice, they should fix it in a flash. If they have bad service, it may take a few days, or they might not be able to get it done. Two companies I found with exceptional service were MC Pro Hosting and BeastNode. They all answered my questions quickly, and when our server got greived, Beastnode re-uploaded it for us within 3 hours.

Thanks for reading this article, and I hope this helps you find the right company for you!
