Tell the audience about yourself for newcomers seeing your work for the first time!

  Hi, I'm JustaFlqmingo, and if you can't tell, I have an obsession with flamingos and tie dye! I am a self taught skin and model artist in hive style, a style of texturing used by The Hive, a minecraft bedrock server, and have been making them for almost a year now! Despite the rumors, I am indeed a flamingo and not a parrot, and I make hive style skins. I'm pretty decent at making them, however, only thing I'm consistent at is being inconsistent lol. I have a minecraft skinning series known as the "making pmcers in hive style without their permission" that has gotten pretty popular is 90% of all my skins XD. I think many audience members would be very interested to know the origins of your username! What's the deal with flamingos? Any comment on the letter Q replacing the A?

A lot of people always ask, what's with the weird name, and the answer to that question has a story behind it. (no, don't worry, I didn't accidentally misspell it and suffer for the rest of my life knowing I accidentally hit q instead of a)
I come from the hive, a minecraft bedrock server, and it's where I learned hive style. When I first joined, my username was Flamingostone5, a randomly generated xbox gamertag. I got into the pvp community, and became a more or less well known "sweat". For those who don't know what that is, here's a totally official hive dictionary definition of it

Anyways, after that, I decided to rename my username in the way that most sweats did, using a specific format. For example, bob becomes "Xx_b0b_xX", and flamongus becomes Xv_flqm0ngus_vX. I decided to change my name to xflqm1ngox, and that was my pmc name for a bit. Eventually, I chose a new name for myself, Justaflamingo. To honor my hive/sweat origins, I decided to throw in a "q", making if justaflqmingo. It was unique, yet memorable, which in other words, was the perfect balance between password english and readable english.

I also have the title of flamongus, due to a joke regarding the fusion of flamingos and amongus 😔

Are there any secret projects you want to announce here in this interview?

  I do in fact have a few secret projects that will be exclusively leaked here! However, most of these have already been leaked to the public in some way or form, so some are gonna be updates to projects that have been in the dark for quite some time. I am currently working on a tie dye youtube video, to kickstart my channel and to celebrate 400 subscribers on my PMC! I do plan to also continue my popular Wings Of Fire (a book series) tribe model series, as my modeling has only gotten better since my last dragon oc model, Comet. I'm also making a pmc tie dye/camouflage skin raffle, so stay tuned for that. The final big one, is that, starting February, I'm going to start streaming youtube on here! Expect to see a lot of skinning streams, more skinning streams, modeling streams, etc. I won't be playing minecraft, since my minecraft pc isn't working at the moment.

With the youtube package, you'll also get a voice reveal, as I'll be using my voice in all my videos and streams! That's right, a voice reveal! I might sound like a mouse, but hey, it's something ig haha.

Do you have any hidden talents or skills subscribers may not know about you?

  A hidden talent that many of my subscribers don't know is that, I actually build my own lego creations from my own pieces and have been for the past 4 years of my life! My most recent build was a lego godzilla, which, was a modified version of this lego MOC by chubbybots on youtube! Legos are my passion, however I have recently stopped a year ago due to me becoming unhealthily obsessed with a block game and a fan website of it haha lol

Who or what inspired your character design?

  Most people's personas are extremely insane, literally out of this world, and just downright creative, such as WhisperOfTheWild, katress, and MOLTENONI. and ZappyGru and BlueBoyBuilds ofc, Mine is just based off of.. me. My character started off as a skin for me that was based on my favorite outfit at the time: navy sweatpants, black and grey shoes, and, of course, my faithful, still oversized to this day tie dye hoodie. When I joined here, I just said that skin was my persona. (since I lacked the braincells at the time and was renting some from my buddy, REACH to make a new one that wasn't me.) I kind of treated my guy as BlueBoyBuilds does to tribby, treating my lil dude as me, but slightly goofier and funny, as if he was his own person. I somewhat, slightly molded him to how I wanted myself to be: Goofy, slightly but not overly awkward, and fun to talk to. You might think none of these things when you think of my guy, and if so, feel free to slap me in the face and call me a failure haha. Anyways, my guy is currently just based off of an old outfit with a slightly different personality lol. I over explain too much

Do you have any active accounts outside of PMC? (Send links too!)

  I do have some active accounts outside of PMC! My minecraft bedrock edition is x flqm1ngo x, and once I get my a new working Computer, I'll play on the hive more. After all, it is where I and my style originate from. (here's my hive profile) And last, I have a Sketchfab, where I post some of my 3d models. I don't have too many other accounts and keep to myself when it comes to accounts a fair bit.

Are there any PMC members you look up to or inspired you?

  I have some inspirations on the site, actually! Style-wise, I think it'd be wise to give Bubblez705 a shoutout here, since his work inspired me to clean my own work up and align them with hive's better. Another person that actually inspires me, not style wise is Nighthearted. Her art and skinning style is amazing, and is actually very pleasant for my eyes to look at when I'm tired of a certain 3 toned style related to bees. I think I'm inspired by SnappNote and BlueBoyBuilds a fair bit actually, as I love their attitude and personality, and strive to be a little bit more like them sometimes.

All these people are pretty cool in my opinion, so go show them some love B)

What do you see yourself doing in the future either for PMC or IRL? Six months? One year? Three years?

  In 6 months, I'll still be pretty active on PMC, and I plan to have a youtube channel up and going by then. In a year, I'll be less active on PMC, and instead interact and be more active with hive's community, since I might have a new working computer by then. I plan to spend more time with hive's community because I wish to become well known there especially in the hive stylist skinning community (It's where I'm from and where my skinning style comes from). Within 3 years, I hope to have at least 5k subs and earn youtube rank, and for my skins to be as if not more popular as zapolightnin. I will still be active in PMC, but I'll slow down within the 1 year mark to focus more on my passion: Hive's community, skins, and youtube.

What part of PMC would you consider yourself to be in?

  I would consider myself to be in the modeler/skinner category content-wise, emphasizing on the models. As a whole though, I'd consider myself an avid blockbench skinner and modeler that is very active and close to the community.

What sort of hobbies do you have outside of Minecraft-related things?

  Outside of Minecraft, I enjoy practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a self defence martial art. I roll on the mats tackling people 5 days a week lol
I also enjoy spending quality time with my Friends, family, Chickens, and Dogs. I have 4 roosters, 15 hens, and 2 dogs, so my days are full of doing farm chores lol.

What brought you over to PMC?

  What brought me over to PMC? Good question, actually. So, back when I was learning about hive style, I would commision people to make me skins. On one of these occasions, the skin was on PMC, and I went over there to download it. Eventually, I found the skin editor, and I made an account to start making my own hive styled skins. Nowadays, I use blockbench to make my skins, but PMC3d will always have a place in my heart.
Funny thing is, I had known of the site all the way back to 2021 I believe. I used to play minecraft legacy on the ps3, and still do. I had an obsession with netherite and everything new update, since, you always want what you don't have. I found a bunch of cool netherite texture packs on pmc, and, while I couldn't use them, I would just stare at them for hours. Kinda funny ngl lol

I noticed you're into the style of Hive’s skins! Was there a specific reason for why you make these kinds of skins?

  This may seem weird, but, Hive Style is like a culture. The style itself dates back to late 2019-Mid 2020, some time after the Hive Bedrock edition opened. The theory is, on the server, one of the artists, Fowben, was messing around trying to create a unique style. After awhile, hive's style of texturing was born. The hive's style is always evolving, changing, and growing to become more complex and, imo, prettier. Soon after early versions of the style dropped, via costumes and cosmetics, skinners like zapolightnin picked up the simple yet complex style and started their own journey with the style. Some hive style practitioners from the hive are Fowben, Zap's, Zakverycool, Creqpe, and Fracasadoh to name a few! Anyways, I couldn't help but see this style pop out in their cosmetics, and it wasn't long until I learned what hive style was. I instantly fell in love with the style and wanted to make some of my own. First, I had to sample some commissions, however. After I bought a couple commissions, I decided to try and learn and gain the techniques and skill for myself. I found PMC from one of my commissions I bought, and, the rest is history. I plan to interact with the Hive's community more, and to become a well known skinner within the community with my skills. I just need to get a new computer first haha-

Any advice to new members seeing you for the first time?

  Advice I'd have for new members? Alright. I'd say, the golden thumb is to be yourself a bit and to interact with the community more. Once you become more familiar with the community, you can start to grow your reputation here by staying active, and to post content that people might be interested in. This community is a very helpful tool if you use it right.

Do you have any last messages before we finish things off?

  I'd say, just be yourself on the site. People here will like you better for who you are, and, it's really helped me grow a bit as a person. This community is one of the best out there, and, you should take advantage of this rare opportunity and make some friends who will bring you far in your journey. It sure helped me a lot, and, I have my friends to thank for helping me get this far.
