Just figured I'd write a blog about how my birthday went since it was pretty fun and I wanted to tell y'all about it. Enjoy!

I was first awoken by an alarm on my iPad at 3:10 in the morning, since I was born at 3:17 and I wanted to post that it was my birthday at that exact time. I also had a blog with Transformers lessons scheduled to post then. I wasn't paying attention, however, and missed it by 4 minutes. Oh well. (I still made the post, of course.)

I woke back up at 6, already excited since it was my birthday and it was a snow day (as we had learned before lunch yesterday). My mom came in and wished me a happy birthday, and then laid in bed and talked to me for a bit. After she left, I went and made breakfast - Eggo waffles and orange juice mixed with seltzer - same as usual. While I ate, I watched a MrNormalPerson video about Sentinel Prime, and once I finished, I put my plate in the sink. I wasn't washing dishes today since it was my birthday.

I took a shower and got dressed, choosing to wear my periodic table of Transformers shirt, as I had gotten it for my birthday two years earlier. I went downstairs and did some writing while I waited for my teachers to post their assignments for the day. (It was our second snow day this year, and they have to post work for every one after the first.) I wrote the Lyrics of the Day post, and around 9:30, I checked for assignments, and saw that I now had Math practice and Science textbook reading to do. There was also a Band assignment to record myself practicing for a minute, but I didn't have my sax with me, so I couldn't do it. I also had English work to do, so I did it.

Around 11, I headed back upstairs and played Transformers: Battlegrounds while I waited for my dad to come. He was originally gonna pick me up from school, but there was no school today, so he decided to come over instead. Eventually, he arrived, and I let him in. We sat down in the second floor living room, where I opened my present. I will admit that I already knew what I was getting, as I had seen it in the closet back in January, but I was elated nonetheless. In addition to a card that included a scan of the document with my footprints at birth, I also got issue 20 of the original Transformers comic (“Showdown!”) and the original Snaptrap and Cutthroat toys. (Technically, Snaptrap is the 2010 re-release, but the only difference is the change from aqua blue to seafoam green and new stickers.) What made it more special was that my dad specifically chose Snaptrap because he knew I liked him a lot.

The bell rang, and my mom came downstairs and let someone in. That person set up a balloon arch and a pair of number balloons with my age in the back of the room. Then, she brought my gifts over to us. One was a stuffed Jurassic Park T. rex and the other was a box. I tore off part of the wrapping and was immediately excited when I saw what it was: Masterpiece Movie Bonecrusher! (A high-budget, well-made toy of Bonecrusher from the live-action movies.) The T. rex became known as Rexy, and me and my dad discussed her personality while I tried to attach the rest of Bonecrusher’s claw arm. I eventually brought down my iPad and watched EmGo316’s review of the figure to learn how to transform him, and my God did it take a long time.

My grandma was also there, and my mom’s friend and her son, who was younger than me, but who I had gotten into Transformers and become friends with, also arrived. After a few minutes, we gathered by the table and they sang "Happy Birthday" to me. I blew out the candles on the cake and we started eating. (It was delicious.) Midway through dessert, lunch came in the form of Chick-Fil-A ordered by my mom. I put my cake aside and ate my chicken sandwich, and then went back to the cake.

Sadly, my dad had to go towards the end of lunch, but everyone else stayed. We called my old nanny and she sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Me and my mom's friend's son talked about Transformers and hung out, and after about 2 hours, they left. By then, it was almost time for dinner, so we started cleaning up. Just because my birthday was over, however, didn't mean I didn't stop getting gifts. Yesterday, my old nanny's present arrived: an RC Optimus Prime (not the Robosen one). I haven't put the batteries in it, but I bet it's fun.

So, all in all, it was a great birthday. I'm so happy to finally own a toy of one of the Seacons (Snaptrap), Cutthroat's a fun little fiddle toy, and I definitely didn't expect MPM Bonecrusher. My mom bought it because it said it was for ages 8 and up on the box, but me, someone who's well over 8, had a Hell of a hard time transforming him (with a review for reference), so either Hasbro's crazy or I suck at transforming Masterpiece toys. (It's funny, since I have a third-party toy that's 15+, but I can transform it just fine...) Anyways, the real treat was getting to celebrate my birthday with both my mom and my dad (remember, they're divorced). That was really special.
