How to allocate more RAM to Minecraft!

  1. Open the new Minecraft launcher
  2. In the bottom left corner, click Edit Profile
  3. At the very bottom under JVM arguments edit the -Xmx to how ever much RAM you want to use.
  4. Make sure you don't allocate to little or too much, as this may cause it to not be able to run.

    1g = 1gigabyte
    2g = 2gigabytes
    1024m = 1gigabyte
    2048m = 2 gigabytes
    DO NOT PUT 1g512m for 1.5gigabytes, convert it to megabytes.

Make sure you keep the -Xmx when you edit the amount of RAM. And remember, this changes the amount of RAM the Java Virtual Machine will use, and the in game value will not change.
