This post is something that anyone can do and can simply modify if they please. The idea is that you are tempting another player into your well stocked house but instead of being greeted with Diamonds... They are greeted with death. So lets begin the tutorial.
STEP 1
STEP 2
Add a steel bar window so that it has a little bit more protection than glass. That way your unsuspecting victim wont know that there's nothing in the chests.
STEP 3
Dig out a spot where your sticky piston is going to go. Remember that it has to be a sticky piston otherwise this trap will NOT work.
STEP 4
You will need to make an inverter due to the fact that you want the piston to open instead of closing.
STEP 5
Connect your inverter that you just made to the sticky piston. This should make the piston open. You can then add a block to the sticky piston.
STEP 6
Now create a redstone path that's connected to the opposite side of the inverter. Make this redstone path go to where you will place your piston. Make sure that the path ends right under the block which has the plate on it.
STEP 7
Now dig out the hole in which your enemy is going to fall into. This part of the design is completely editable. You can create whatever you desire. Personally, I later went with an obsidian room which the player would fall into a water flow and then be pushed through the stream (the water was being held up by signs) which would then drop you onto a pressure plate which activated a tnt block. You could add another layer to fall through like a lava flow. This would do significant damage to the player, not to mention the drop could also be involved also.
STEP 8
Stand off the plate and wait for the piston to push the block closed. Place a door onto this block. The player would assume that the pressure plate is for the door when in fact it's for the trap. The plate will open the door but also open the trap door. This will brake the door and follow the player down into the death pit.
STEP 9
Now fill up your house with a bunch of valuable things whether it be chests with misleading sign or blocks of Iron, Gold and Diamond. I personally went with the blocks and the chests, that way your victim will feel like they've hit the jackpot. Another thing you should have is a sign that says KEEP OUT and maybe claim it with your name. Curiosity will kick in and the player will feel the urge to at least check what's in those chests.
STEP 10
Now your house trap is complete. An added feature you could make is a little path that gets down to the pit safely, this way you can loot their items after they die. Another thing is make sure that you hold shift when you see someone coming. Being sneaky and staying nearby is key. Also once the trap has been set off, make sure that you put a door back where the previous one was. That way it doesn't look suspicious.
-This trap was made by baldwinash's crazy mind so if anyone claims that this was their idea, it probably was because it isn't the most complicated of designs out there. Thanks for reading this far, a Diamond would really be appreciated and possibly a Favourite.

On steps 5/6, put the inverter directly under the piston, which is a block with a redstone torch on top, and have the redstone go towards that.
