How to Install Minecraft Mods (1.5 and Below) [Mac and Windows]

Mac Installation


1) Open "Finder"
2) Locate your "User Name" of your Account
3) Open "Library" Folder
**If "Library" Folder is Missing type in the following:
-chflags nohidden ~/Library/
4) Open "Application Support" Folder
5) Find "minecraft" Folder
6) Open "bin" folder
7) Right Click on "minecraft.jar' and Open with Any Unzipping Program [For Example: url=www.izip.com/]iZip[/url]]
8) Delete "META-INF" and Drag in any ".jar" Files needed for the Mod
9) When Finished. Select Everything [Command+A], Right Click, and Press "Compress 1275 Files" [Could Be Any #]
10) A New ".zip" File appears. Drag it out of the "minecraft.jar" File into the "bin" Folder
[Optional] Delete the "minecraft.jar" Folder created by the Zip.
11) Rename the Fresh "minecraft.jar" File into "backup minecraft.jar" [Just incase something goes wrong]
12) Rename the "Archive.zip" File into "minecraft.jar"
13) When you are done you can close everything and enjoy your Minecraft Mod.

Windows Installation


1) Open "Start Menu"
2) Type in "%appdata%" [Without the quotations]
3) Go to ".minecraft" Folder
4) Open "bin" Folder
5) Open "minecraft.jar" File by Right Clicking and Opening with "winrar"
6) Once Opened, Delete "META-INF" and Drag any ".jar" Files needed for the Mod
7) When you are done you can close everything and enjoy your Minecraft Mod.
