So, here is how I decreased lag for MC 1.6.1
On your new launcher click edit profile >> Check JVM Arguments >> delete the code in the new box that just opened, and paste this in -Xmx4G -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true (copy and paste that)>> Save profile
or go to task manager go to javaw.exe right click it go to set priotity high
