Hey, today im gonna show how to install basic mods, and i got some links under, that you need to install this way.

(Note: timber need modloader,which is in risugamis mods)

And to install you need WinRAR:http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Steps: Go into windows explorer, and at the top type %APPDATA%
Now, press .minecraft,
Then press bin,
then right click minecraft.jar, and select open with, then press WinRAR
Delete the folder named Meta-INF, or you will get black screen
Now, drag all the files from the installed mod into minecraft.jar
Then start minecraft,
DONE!!
Note:Minecraft needs to be closed when inserting files into minecraft.jar
