How to Minecraft:

The fallowing is a semi short set of different ways to play the game know as Minecraft. The whole article is my opinion and should not be criticized. This arctic will talk about:
-How to Survival;
-How to Creative;
-How to Server; (coming soon)
-How to Redstone;(coming soon)

Now that I have rambled on for awhile let us dive deep into the strange world of geeks and nerds.

How to Survival:

Survival mode is one of the oldest know ways to play the game Minecraft. The idea it self seems at first simple:
-punch wood
-craft a table
-craft a wood pick
-mine coal
-mine stone
-craft stone pick
-mine 3 iron
-craft a furnace
-smelt the iron
-craft iron pick
-mine dimond
-craft dimond pick
-mine 10-14 obsidian
-build nether portal
-get 9 blaze rods
-craft blaze powder
-get 9 ender pearl
-craft 9 ender eye
-Find end portal
-Kill ender dragon
-Winning

The whole "code" is something that a lot of us fallow to heart. But there are often thing that get in the way, distractions, things that slow us down from the final goal. But should our goal be to kill "the dragon" every time?

Goal setting:

Personally I find it almost to be necessary to have a goal while playing survival that is not to kill the ender dragon.

Examples of goal:

-to build a working full scale animal factory in the middle of a massive town

-to make a full scale module of the Burj Dubai tower(Google it)

Goal setting make to same game seem different each time. The other cool thing about goal setting is that if/when you get there, guess what? You can make a new goal, that one being bigger and better.

Resource Packs

Resource Packs are a good Idea when creating a new world. A Resource Pack will change the ways you build and see the world. It makes the game fresh again.

The other nice thing is there is a lot of them! Chose one that you like and fits well with your goal. Make sure to keep it up to date and in the newest Minecraft version. If playing with a friend, make sure they are using the same resource pack as well so they will "see" the world the same way.

Mods

If you are playing minecraft for the first or almost first time, I would say: don't have mods. At this time the player is still getting used to playing the game and anything extra would only add to the confusion.

There are a huge mass of mods to pick from and it is always fun to mix and match different modification to let you do amazing things with the game that you could not think of! Mods can help you get your final goal, or change what you want. Note: sometimes mods add things that will seem like good goals but really are not. Never set your goal to something that mod had to offer. The whole point of minecraft is basically to not play the game the way you want them to.

Bad way to set goal with mod:

- (mod: galactiacraft) To get to the moon.

Good goal set:

-(mod: galactiacraft) To set up a massive space station on the moon and on mars.

How to Creative

As the name says when in creative mode you must be creative. A study was done that showed that people work the best when there is a medium-level background noise. Now guess what? A café has that perfect noise level! Don't live next to a café or don't want to play your fav game in public? Don't worry, some people who also read the paper recorded a loop that you can listen to while doing your stuff! You can find their website here:

coffitivity.com

And the study here:

If café noises don't work for you just grove to your fav tunes. They are a bit more entertaining anyway...

Building

Building in creative often ends in amazing builds that take days to make. It is to say the least a form of art. Now I find that a lot of time is wasted from moving around to place blocks. I have a simple solution to this problem. Give your self an extreme speed boost for when you are building up around a certain perimeter. Hold shift and you will save a hole lot of time over the building time. But you can only save so much time or be so accurate. Some time you need help. third person application help.

Third Person Party apps

Once again there are many different resources to choose from again:

MCedit
World painter
NBT edit
Ingame NBT edit

(Other programs are available)

Theses programs aide you from import already made building to editing mobs in the world. Learn them and us them vigorously.

Making maps

Minecraft map making is a very popular practice. If you are intern eased in getting into the "business". There are many thing you will need to know!

1. Know your commands

Minecraft is changing, it's moving away from Redstone and more towards command blocks. Your map should have at least basic usage of the command block.

2. Plan ahead

Know what you are going to be making. Wither it be a adventure, parkour or survival map. Have the story or theme ready before you start.

3. Do go to big

Know your limits, don't go to big, to hard. You could crash and burn. That being said...

4. Push your self

Make it original and push to the end!
