This blog will be about how to open certain stuff, if you have any questions, write them in the comments and i will try to find a solution for it. First i have this beginners guide, how to open .rar files, using WinRAR.
First search for WinRAR download free on google or use this site:
www.rarlab.com/
Then find the download version for your system and country (in only has 32 and 64 bits) If you want to figure out which system your computer has, you must open your start menu, then right click on the link "Computer" and then select properties. Then you scroll down till you see the word "systemtype:" and right after that, you'll find your bit system (you either have a 32 or a 64 bit system).
Then, when you downloaded it, it will most likely be in your "downloads" folder, which you can find under any of your other maps, like music, videos, pictures or documents. You find it when you'll scroll down in left side of any of your opened maps. Now install WinRAR, just doubleclick if you use Windows.
When you install WinRAR, its important that you dont say yes to let it archive .jar files and the file name beneath, cause if you let it archive your .jar files, you wont be able to open minecraft anymore, at least not before you uninstall WinRAR.
Now, when you are installing WinRAR, say yes to let it make a desktop icon, that makes it easier to open it when you wants to use it, do also drag out the .rar file to your desktop.
If you are using windows you should shortly after the installation be able to open the .rar file with WinRAR. Then, when opened, its important that you also open the program "Notepad" and drag the "READ ME" file into the program. That will open the "READ ME" file and make it available to read the text, instead of just opening the "cmd", which will happen if you double click on the "READ ME" file.
Right above the the "READ ME" file, there will be 2 .zip files. those are the texturepacks and to use those in your minecraft, you can either go in game, select "open map for texturepacks" or write in the search bar in the start menu:
%appdata%
That will lead you in under Roaming, the map where all your minecraft files are placed. If you select the "%appdata%" method, you just have to doubleclick on the map named "Texturepacks" and you will be lead into the same map that would open if you selected the "open map for texturepacks" in game. In this map, you just simply drag and move your .zip files into this folder and then you'll have 2 new texturepacks.
Now, i dont know much more than this, but i would think that you just drag the last map into the "mods" map under your ".minecraft" map or copy it and places one in the "mods" map and one in the "saves" map, which also contains all of your other worlds, exept for multiplayer worlds.
I hope this was helpful, if you need help for mods using WinRAR, i think i can deal with that too :)

Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Since most people knew this ages ago, then this post is irrelevant and I should probably delete it.. But I've lost access to this account (the result is shown in the name of this account) and therefore I can't delete it. Click my name if you wish to see what I am up to. But know that the video on the Cathedral is broken. A reason with a link to the YouTube video can be found in the comments. I am working on more content, so if you wanna follow up, then this user and my YouTube channel are the places to go. Just ignore this post. I'll get something done with this stuff soon.
