Are you tired of spawning, only to die at night? Well, I am going to teach you how to play like the Pros, considering I've played minecraft since Alpha 1.2.

Step 1, Gathering and Building a Shelter: Have you ever been stumped on what and how much you should gather?
1:1) Gather a good 12 pieces of wood.2) Find the nearest small or even big mountain and build a crafting table and a pickaxe and dig yourself a nice little room.3) With the cobblestone that you mined make a furnace. 4) Make 4 wooden planks and with one or two cook a regular wood in the furnace.5) Now you have charcoal. This can be used the same way as coal to make torches.6) Now either cover up the entrance or make a door.7) The next day do the same until you have a lot of torches, then go mining for coal or you can keep using charcoal.2: (If you spawn in a jungle, big forest, plains, or a tundra.) Gather a good 12 pieces of wood.2) Make a crafting table and a pickaxe.3) Literally dig a hole in the ground, when you hit stone dig 3-4 blocks down and make a nice room with a ceiling of 3-4 blocks.4) Make 4 wooden planks and with them cook 1-2 blocks of regular wood.5) Now you have charcoal.
Now either cover up the entrance or make a door.7) The next day do the same until you have a lot of torches, then go mining for coal or you can keep using charcoal.(Remember out of any material you acquire make a pick axe first)

Step 2, A Regular House: So you've been living in a cave for a few days, its time to build a real house, i recommend a small house at first (at least 2 times the size of your cave) and as you get more supplies just add to your house.
1)Get wood, Get wood, Get wood! Get as much wood as you can so you can make a nice house. Maybe even dedicate a whole minecraft day for gathering wood! 2) Start on a new day so you don't get ambushed by monsters :) (You should have a bed by now.). Don't worry if it starts turning night, at the first sign that dark is coming make a run to your homecave.3) Once you are done with your house, CUSTOMIZATION! Add paintings! Add furnaces! Add a Workbench! Add a Bed! 4) Finally, once you are done, be proud of yourself, instead of saying ''Awww, it sucks'' say ''Wow I did a good job!''. Don't forget! Always add more stories or make it wider so it can satisfy your needs like storage! Don't Forget to make chests!

Task 1, Mining: So you have some pretty basic tools. BUT YOU WANT MORE.1) In your house start digging a stairway 2-4 blocks wide and just dig and dig and dig and dig until you find iron to make a pickaxe that is way more durable and faster.2) Cook the iron and make a pickaxe (If you have enough if not mine for more) and have a mining adventure (Don't forget to bring torches!), mine until you find a cave go down the cave as you will find a lot of iron, but be careful there are monsters lurking in the dark! (Unless you are not hardcore and are playing on peaceful). 3) Once you go deep enough you will find diamonds WARNING: Never mindlessly go for diamonds always dig around the diamonds as most of the time there is lava around the diamonds. WARNING #2: Diamond can only be mined with an iron pickaxe! But don't be too scared of lava, it goes really slow, so you will have time to run away, but always dig around! 4: If you encounter a dungeon) Make sure you have a sword, pickaxe, torches, and inventory space. Approach the dungeon and break one block, look in and identify what mob it is as this will help immensely. If Skeleton: Try to make a trench under them and find the spawner and from under destroy both, so they won't spawn.
Then attack strategically by attacking at their feet as it will be hard for them to shoot you or let them fall in one by one so they will be easier to handle, collect your loot!. If spider: Get at high ground and as they climb up kill them, when all are gone jump down and light up the spawners as that is much faster than destroying them, and then destroy them, Collect your loot! If zombie: Get to a spot where you can reach them but they can reach you and kill them. Same as spider, light up the spawn, then destroy it, collect your loot!If Creeper: BEWARE: Some creeper dungeons are very hard, I advise new players to stay away from them. This dungeon is the hardest. Get to high ground and if you have a bow and arrows, it will be drastically easier for you. But if you have a sword: Try to make a passage from the cave into the dungeon and lure the creepers out, then run past them and back to the dungeon, there will be less creepers, light up the spawners run away , and FIGHT LIKE HELL! When you get back to your house your inventory should be nearly full or completely full.

Task 2, Farming: 1)Make a hoe (Made like a pickaxe except with one block removed on the side) and make a flat area with a fence around it outside.2) Right click the grass to turn it into farmland or tilled grass and put water around it so crops can grow.3) Acquire crops. You can get crops/seeds from tall grass or if you put a pumpkin or melon into the crafting bench. Now with seeds obtained from tall grass right click to plant.WARNING: Melons and Pumpkins require two spaces of farmland to grow so on one the stem grows and on the other the melon/pumpkin.
Farming is often used for a plentiful amount of food.

Task 3, Hunting: Bring a sword and food. If you see a cow always attack it, as cooked beef gives you the most bars.
Never eat something you got on the hunt, as it is not cooked it can poison you and make your hunger go down faster.

Task 4, Exploring: I only recommend exploring if you are skilled as if you die far away you have little chance of finding your items. Always bring a compass with you so you never get lost.There is really no tips for this one except EXPLORE. But if you find it getting dark dig yourself in a hole in the ground in a position where nothing can fall on you but you can see the light.

Your Step: Do what you want, I've taught you everything I can.This Step is truly yours. Build Whatever. Fight Whatever.Collect Whatever. Minecraft is about imagination, so whatever pops into your imagination, build. Remember, nothing looks bad in minecraft, as long as it's not made out of dirt!
