Many people out there have an issue with lag in Minecraft, this is probably because the game was coded in java, which wasn't really designed for games, but yet look what Minecraft has become.
1. Install Optifine - Optifine is a mod I've been using pretty much from when it was release. I've had many bad computers, and Optifine made minecraft run like a star. I will provide a link at the end of this blog.
2. Play Minecraft in fullscreen mode. I can honestly say, this is one of the best lag fixes. I get about 100+ FPS when playing in fullscreen mode.
3. Improve the RAM of your computer. RAM, or Random Access Memory is what's used to store short term data on the computer. It's required to run programs and is required to run an operating system. Improving it means the computer has more RAM to share with all processes going on.
4. Edit visual effects. Navigate to My Computer. Right click it and click 'Properties'. A window should open. In the top left you should see something that says 'Advanced System Settings' Click it. Now, another window should be open, hit the 'Performance button under the 'Advanced' tab. You can now disable and enable visual effects to your liking, turning all off is most effective.
5. Upgrade your drivers. Just like in 4, navigate to the properties section of 'My Computer'. In the top right, click 'Device Manager'. In the window that pops up, double click 'Display Adapters'. your graphics card should be listed. Right click it and select 'Update Driver Software...'. It's also recommended to update all drivers.
6. Honestly, get a better Computer, if all else fails. Or instead update your components.
