Hey guys. I just saw these amazing pictures from pandaraze (Game of Thrones) (http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/showcase-dragonstone/) and thought it would be nice to have something like that with my own map...So I started to search for Answers and this is actually how it works:
I used jmc2obj, 3ds Max and C4d, but more abut that in the video.

The video is in german, but I think subs and translations will come in the next few days

I`m still a complete newbie with C4d, because I started to use it just about one week ago, but I learn everyday more and one day I will also be able to show you how to crate animated 3d videos and more professional pictures.

Here is the german video description:

If I wanted to add light properties to a certain block, say glowstone, like to make it shine like torches, how would I do so? Or would I have to add a whole 'nother light there? Diamond btw.

Adding a light for every single glowstone would take quite a long time. So I use the buttons "Glowing and Light" or however they are named in the english version of C4D. They are not an ideal solution because they add just a glowing sphere in a colour of your choice around the block without any shadows.
Here is an example where you can see that a little bit.

I'm still not good in C4d but i'll try to find it out.

Thanks, and where would I find this Glowing and Light button? I literally just got C4d :P I'm pretty sure it's like Glow, Specular, other Specular and like Luminance or something like that... It's just not working for me... Anything in render settings I need to change?

I'm not quite sure if you have these options with the Demo of C4d (I've got the full version). But if yes, you can find these buttons at the materials (for example of glowstone). They are in the under left corner. Just double klick it.

I guess the standard resolution for renders is 320p. You might have to change that (Render, Render settings, output). There are also a lot of options that have effects on your render. But I don't know all of them. Maybe there are some cool things :).

Figured it out.. Had the right things clicked on, but apparently light doesnt emit when other objects are covering all the sides (I think...) I had fences covering the glowstone. Thanks
a lot tho.
