Hey Guys i'm here with another blog on how to start a server.
Step 1. You need a good host I do not recomend hosting it off your pc. But some good hosts are TheMinecraftHost and BeastNode. Im currently using theminecrafthost. And they are great! They answer tickets in less then 2 hours and its 24/7 uptime 99% of the time. I do not have any exp with beastnode though but every review says its fantastic!
Step 2. How big do you want your server. I have a 90 player server currently but it depends do you want a easy to manage server with lets say 20 to 30 players, a private server so you and your friends can play so on.
Step 3. Creating a spawn and deciding staff. No matter what you need to have staff they can help mantain your server when your offline. Also creating a spawn is not difficult maybe just have a rule board and some ranks or whatever. or do you want a huge city spawn where players can shop and own houses. My own server does not have a huge spawn or a tiny one just a moderate size with the rules, a shop, a bank. and the factions list.
Step 4. Server type and plugins. This is the key part of a server it changes the game type you can have Factions Pvp, Surival, Parkour, Towny the possibliteas are endless! But you need the right plugins. I recomend using a bukkit.jar for plugins!
Step 5. Advertising is a key element to a public server youll need maybe your server posted on a few websites offer rewards for voting and so on. Maybe a enjin website if your a newbie ( which you can get for free ).
